well i guess i should be honest. he is me. i am the server owner. on Jul 7 2023, long after i asked my forum account and threads to be deleted, i saw in my httpd logs that somewhere there was a minetest forum page linking to my site. it was the referer. so i decided to have some fun with that. |

thats true. i used to hate that idea since i saw a minecraft server that went way overboard with the idea. but a simple "type /verfiy XXXXX" thing hidden in the rules is effective enough. |

ive come to actually like the idea of a simple test being used to keep unworthy people out. for example, on my site, my email is public but presented in a way that makes bot scraping more difficult but doesnt require some stupid JS browser challenge or captcha to reviel it. |

ooh i like those. those are pretty important. tho i am not that good at writing rules lol. on my secondary server, i do have a test in the form of 2 doors. one with signs that say 'dont go in here' and has a one way door and one that says 'go this way' if they go the wrong way, they get trapped. most players get trapped. |

that would include one user who has a special rank. not gonna say who. but i think they should be banned. at least if the community is to be more friendly and welcoming. there is a balance that needs to be maintained. you want a community to be inclusive but to TOO inclusive. because if you are inclusive to scumbags then they make the community more toxic and less inclusive. |
