unrelated: is it worth ripping the PlayerSAO class a new asshole (and the cobra's nest of things which depend on it) just to make bots/NPCs? right now, existing bot/NPC mods seem to work around this lack of functionality by creating a fake player out of a LuaEntitySAO, but this lacks any inventory, often doesn't replicate how players actually work, cannot interact with items, and is ignored by mods. |

so ideally, creating a PlayerSAO (and some derivative of Player, eg "FakePlayer" or something) would be the most direct solution, because it would result in an entity which must adhere to exactly the same game rules as human players |
