My connection is pretty decent, and I fall through about 5% of the time on the way up. |
00:29 |
cheapie |
There's a bank of 2 similar elevators elsewhere on the server that serve 6 floors, but the ceilings are quite high so they go up about 50m. I fall through those about 50% of the time if I'm going all the way up. |
00:29 |
cheapie |
Going down, they of course work fine. |

"nah, it's safe, only a 5% risk of death" |
01:28 |
benrob0329 |
cheapie: minecarts drop that to 0% :P |
01:29 |
cheapie |
Sure, but carts don't go vertically, don't have smart(ish) dispatching if there are multiple carts, don't have fire service mode... |
01:29 |
robdrake |
no elevator rail in minetest, yet? |
01:30 |
benrob0329 |
Ah, ye of little faith |
01:31 |
benrob0329 |
Pistons and movestones move rails and carts just fine |
01:33 |

Yeah, but that's a pain in the butt compared to just walking in. |

Hey guys, I'm new to minetest, used to play minecraft a lot in the past. I'm wondering what game suggestions people have for something along the lines of Feed The Beast? Machines, power generation, etc... In Minecraft I used to play with big modpacks like that. Anything similar in Minetest? |

feed the beasts is a modpack (or modpack manager) that mostly has tech mods |
19:00 |

er -pltrz: |

Ingar |
Marlin1113: minetest is more "make your own modpack" |
19:00 |
Andrey01 |
as I understand does 'y' value get beyond the world or anything else? |
19:01 |
BuckarooBanzai |
Andrey01: yep: looks like a floating point issue somewhere in the engine :/ |
19:02 |
Marlin1113 |
there are some nice tech mods, but i don't think there is anything on the league of feed the beasts yet |
19:02 |

comrad: it hangs? does nothing happen if you confirm the menu? |
19:02 |
sfan5 |
pltrz: take a look at the technic modpack |
19:02 |
pltrz |
Yes, feed the beast are some big modpacks. Usually tech mods, magic, lots of added content, hundreds of mods put together, then fine tuned to make the game balanced with them all, remove duplicate ores, etc.. |
