To de-register/delete an item from the game, is all I have to do is remove it from the 'minetest.registered_items' & 'minetest.registered_craftitems' tables? Or is there more to it? The only method that I found is 'minetest.override_item', but that registers the same item name with a different definition. I want to completely remove an item from the game without having to modify the original mod that created it. |
02:06 |
AlexYst |
AntumDeluge: Deleting them from the tables isn't enough. Hold on, I think I saw the function you need. I'll look it up. |

Don't even bother with the tables, that function will clean all that out for you when it does the rest of its thing. |

KaadmY |
Oh, just the name seemed kinda obvious in hindsight :P |

Ha ha, yeah, I just searched the doc file for "unregister". I was fairly certain that's what the name was, but wanted to be sure before giving any advice. |

17:21 |

there is a setting in minetest.conf which enables monsters, just set it to false instead of true and it'll work |
17:21 |
Raven262 |
though i think you'll need to run carbone once for it to appear in the conf |

Storing energy is a bit hard, you have to place it somewhere, which depletes a little, and you have to store it, which depletes it a little over time, then you have to use it, which also depletes it during the transition and actual use. |
17:57 |
tumeninodes |
well, they did come out with the battery / incendiary device |

AFAIK the lifetime of the Li-Ion/Poly batteries increases if you don't fully charge them... I read that you can charge them only 500 times before they lose capacity if you always charge 0-100% ... if you only charge 50-100% they last 1,500 charges, if you charge them only 30% each time they last over 5,000 and so on |

worldedit schematics are supported as well. but most houses are .mts files now. you can use those with worldedit as well - with /mtschemcreate and /mtschemplace. or with my handle_schematics mod |
