I've added a mod to minetest_game but the engine ignores it. how this can be possible? |
14:45 |
Fixer_ |
enable it in world config |
14:45 |
everamzah |
is minetest_game in .minetest/games? and is it selected over some system-wide installation of it? or is this a local installation? |
14:45 |
everamzah |
sub-game mods don't get enabled in world.mt, or did you not mean that? |
14:47 |
Fritz01 |
i've got a non-portable installation with the engine files (and sub-games too) in a folder called ".minetest_engine". Mods, textures pack and worlds are in a folder called ".minetest" |

14:57 |

you're trying to modify the sub-game? |
14:57 |

because minetest_game is a sub-game. |

or, are you trying to enable a mod? |

15:08 |
Fritz01 |
but it doesn't works |
15:08 |
everamzah |
it's not hardcoded, it'll load whatever you put in there. it very well should work, but if it doesn't, you'll want to check the locations of all the files |
15:09 |
Fritz01 |
that's the point; it (the engine) doesn't load the mod that i added to minetest_game (games/minetest_game/mods) |
15:12 |
Fritz01 |
Never mind. fixed it |

for the record: if you're adding a mod to a sub-game that is install system-wide (ie /usr/local/share/minetest/games/minetest_game/mods) you would need the administrator password. |

twoelk: Hey, do you have a server? I dont remember |
20:58 |
sfan5 |
Jeija: by the way you can use https://gist.github.com/sfan5/780c24313c164d34634e18677683b9a3#file-libleveldb to recompile leveldb and to make your build work without any messing around |

i sometimes run a server that announces to the public list, most server instances are private though and run on request |

sfan5, good! Thank you! |

hmm. the round world does not seem to like non-flat mapgen |
21:17 |
Krock |
or better: the node borders there aren't rendered yet |
21:37 |
Jeija |
Krock, yes, that doesn't work unfortunately. Adapting the node face generation code seemed very difficult. Collision detection works fine though :) |
21:38 |
Krock |
indeed :) |
21:38 |
Krock |
but it seems to base on shaders to display correctly, right? |
21:39 |
Jeija |
The curvature is implemented in shaders, yes. But the mechanics of the planet can only be implemented in the cpp code. |
