06:40 |
DI3HARD139 |
added server_announce = true in the minetest.conf file. Open the port for the server in your Router's port forwarding settings. |
06:41 |
Miner_48er |
ok find the ip of the computer the servers on an port forward it with your router |
06:41 |
DI3HARD139 |

06:42 |
Mr_Narfh |
yep |
06:43 |
DI3HARD139 |
that explains alot. that makes it much harder |
06:43 |
Miner_48er |
start + r |

^ |
06:43 |
DI3HARD139 |
type in cmd |
06:44 |
Miner_48er |
*win + r |
06:44 |
DI3HARD139 |
then cd <directory where MT is located. I personally store it on my desktop.> |
06:44 |
* DI3HARD139 |
hasn't used XP in 5 years so is a bit flaky on the folder dirs/layouts/indexs |
06:45 |
Miner_48er |
cd <drop folder from explorer in> |
06:45 |
DI3HARD139 |
Oh damn that trick works on windows as well??? Thought it was a Mac only thing |
06:46 |
DI3HARD139 |
Well I'll be damned. Thats gonna shave a few secs of typing |
06:47 |
* DI3HARD139 |

06:49 |
Mr_Narfh |
what do i shearch if i didn't move it? |
06:50 |
DI3HARD139 |
type "cd" in the cmd prompt and drag the minetest.exe over the cmd prompt |
06:51 |
Mr_Narfh |
there is no drag |
06:51 |
DI3HARD139 |
then remove the "minetest.exe" portion |
06:52 |
DI3HARD139 |
drag and drop over the cmd prompt?? Its present in Windows XP. |
06:53 |
Mr_Narfh |

Mr_Narfh |
c:\games |
06:55 |
Miner_48er |

06:56 |

06:57 |
DI3HARD139 |
Ok lets do it this way. Where do you have the minetest folder stored? Desktop? My Documents? |
06:57 |
Miner_48er |
under wireless or ethernet it should have your ip address |
06:57 |
Mr_Narfh |
localdisc |
06:57 |
Mr_Narfh |
and desktop |
06:58 |
Mr_Narfh |
wait folder localdisc |

06:59 |
DI3HARD139 |
? |
06:59 |
DI3HARD139 |
dir in C:/ |
06:59 |
Mr_Narfh |
now its in my documents |
06:59 |
DI3HARD139 |
to that would be C:/Documents and Settings/<UserName>/My Documents/ |
06:59 |
DI3HARD139 |

quite old, but not older than v7. The world was started on v7. then, when i updated to 0.4.14, the mapgen has switched to v6 without me doing anything |

I'm becoming somewhat skeptical about MineTest at this stage since frankly, its visuals and features department seems to be dying after RBA left us. I'm not sure if we'll see major things bringing the engine even further to completion soon. |
21:07 |
KaadmY |
exactly |
21:07 |
* Taoki |
is more of a fan of smooth, but it's good when there's a choice |
21:08 |
KaadmY |
imo minor things, like SSAO/HDR have a massive impact on visuals |
21:08 |
KaadmY |
ie. something like hard lighting+SSAO |
21:08 |

and have hard lighting only cast down |
21:08 |

or at an angle depending on sun angle |
21:08 |
