Hello all, I compiled a run_in_place minetestserver, but I get no writing to debug.txt, where can I set this? |
14:10 |
ElectronLibre |
Are you sure the server is writing in the good debug.txt file? Usually debug.txt is either in ~/.minetest or in the current work dir. You can still use --log <path to logfile> to force the logging to a specific file. |
14:14 |
luizrpgluiz |
that strange, here in linux Manjaro I'm not having this problem |

If you run a minetestserver, specifying a log file is always a good idea. |

Just to be 100% sure the logs will end up where you expect them to end up. |
14:18 |

huhu :) are there any mod, to grant the player notes on their nicknames like "technics [i'm afk...]"? |
14:43 |
ElectronLibre |
There is no API to change the nametag's text as far as I know. |
14:44 |
ElectronLibre |
You can change its color (RGBA) but not its text (yet). |
14:44 |

User=telesight |

ElectronLibre, thanks for this information :) |
14:48 |
ElectronLibre |
Telesight: Did you enable that service file? What happens if you start it manually using systemctl? |
14:50 |
Telesight |
This service (the way it is written) works. It is started with minetest.timer. But I do not know where to force log setting ... |
14:51 |
ElectronLibre |
Just add "--log /home/telesight/minetest/serverlogs.txt", for example, at the end of the command in ExecStart. |
14:51 |
Telesight |
if I add --log /path I get an failure |
14:51 |

I will try again ... |
14:52 |

14:54 |

I always mistake it with --config which doesn't contain the word "file". |
15:06 |
Telesight |

15:07 |

It might be because you start it with a service, the logs probably end up somewhere in /var/log. |

mouse pointer kepps going in direction is pointing at, like in android game |
19:18 |
srakitnican |
but I am on desktop |
19:19 |
srakitnican |
don't know where to look at |
19:20 |

srakitnican, auto-forward was recently added to Minetest. Perhaps that has been enabled? |
19:21 |
Calinou |
can you make a screencast? eg. using SimpleScreenRecorder: http://www.maartenbaert.be/simplescreenrecorder/ |
19:21 |
Calinou |
you can upload the result to https://imgrush.com (up to 50 MB) |
19:21 |
srakitnican |
it's minetest 0.4.12 |
19:21 |
srakitnican |
and it work fine on xorg |
19:21 |
LazyJ |
Ah. Well, auto-forward was the only thing I could think of. |
19:22 |
srakitnican |
I will try |
19:26 |
srakitnican |
Or I can describe, if mouse pointer is in the middle of window cross is not moving anywhere, as soon as I move mouse it starts moving in that direction and never stops |

yeah recording might be difficult on wayland, ebverything crashes lol |
19:44 |

srakitnican: Wayland doesn't have pointer warping or pointer locking |
19:44 |
FreeFull |
srakitnican: So no game that relies on it will work |

This rules out any game with a first-person perspective for example |

srakitnican, your computer is weird |
20:26 |
rubenwardy |
It'll be because of this code: https://github.com/minetest/minetest/blob/master/src/game.cpp#L1847-L1850 |
20:27 |
rubenwardy |
You computer either has floating point inaccuracies, or the cursor isn't being grabbed correctly |
20:28 |
rubenwardy |
would you be able to build Minetest your self, so I can put a print statement there to debug it? |
20:29 |

Megaf_: Idk what is meant by this... I do know that I'm disappointed with the progress of gNewSense, for it has a really old software included in the ISO which one downloads |
22:33 |
Megaf_ |
JohnnyComeL8ly: it works well, as well, if not better than Debian Squeeze |
22:33 |
Megaf_ |
but it is outdated yes |
22:33 |
Megaf_ |
they should keep doing the stuff |
22:34 |

and they could use the Linux Libre Kernel |
22:34 |
JohnnyComeL8ly |
I think they kinda let it go... Trisquel is what RMS uses now. |
22:35 |

23:00 |
JohnnyComeL8ly |
Megaf_: ^^ (I should just remember to place this before I send the msg....) :-P |
23:00 |
Megaf_ |
what I had been using, Debian |
23:00 |
JohnnyComeL8ly |
Megaf_: And that is completely free? |
23:01 |
Megaf_ |
almost, on Debina you can choose what repos from it you want, they have main, contrib and non-free |
23:02 |
JohnnyComeL8ly |
Megaf_: From what I understand... the distro doesn't cut the mustard for FSF because they still have repositories which contain non-free software. |
23:02 |
Megaf_ |
main is only Open Source, but I think the kernel itself does have some binary firmware or something |
23:02 |
Megaf_ |
Im using only main on this netbook |
