I just got a matching pair of 22" monitors and I stretched the minetest window accross the two and the game "camera" seems distorted on the sides of the screen like its rendering for single screen or something. Are there any tweaks or settings to help it look a bit better when rotating and moving around? |

CraigyDavi: remove the "stairs = {}" |
14:25 |
|
ImQ009 joined #minetest |
14:25 |
sfan5 |
also you need to depend on the stairs mod |
14:26 |
sfan5 |
and replace "if minetest.get_modpath("stairs") then" with "if stairs then" |
14:26 |
sfan5 |
CraigyDavi: what do you think "stairs = {}" does? |
14:27 |
CraigyDavi |
Thanks sfan5, have sorted it out now |
14:28 |
sfan5 |
CraigyDavi: what did you think "stairs = {}" does? |
14:28 |
CraigyDavi |
Not sure, it was there in the original mod and I've seen other mods do it too, to be honest I have no idea. |
14:28 |
sfan5 |
I've seen other mods do it too |
14:28 |
sfan5 |
o.O |
14:29 |
sfan5 |
stairs = {} sets the global variable 'stairs' to an empty table |
14:29 |
sfan5 |
so it practically destroys the functionality of the stairs mod |
14:29 |
sfan5 |
for that mod and all mods that load after it |
14:30 |
CraigyDavi |
Hmm that is silly |

I guess a simple height param has been added. within 2 minutes, I could add the same |
18:56 |
Megaf |
also, I like the command block to be able to grant privs |
18:56 |
Megaf |
it does nothing when I put the command grant |
18:58 |
VanessaE |
Megaf: meh, plants_lib can do that too ;) |
18:59 |
VanessaE |
though not as good as shown there because that image shows biome blending also. there's nothing to it really, a height variable like krock said |
18:59 |
VanessaE |
if > that value + random, add snow to the landscape |
18:59 |
Krock |
simply reduce temperature param by height |
18:59 |
VanessaE |
precisely. |
19:00 |
VanessaE |
Megaf: mind you paramat writes custom mapgens so he can code that sort of thing right into the map |
19:00 |
VanessaE |
so it's not like he's evaluating the base map and adding stuff to it |
19:01 |
Megaf |
VanessaE: also, any idea why the commander from mesecons wont grant privs? |
19:02 |
VanessaE |
Megaf: security reasons. |
19:03 |
VanessaE |
it operates under the username of whoever placed it |
19:03 |

and by extension, with their level of privs, but it has access controls, as I recall, to prevent doing too much |

well, if the command block can only use privs the person who placed ti have, and its uncraftable, I see no problem in it being able to use "privs" |

any time you have radio involved, you have to consider noise, not just signal level |
