hmmmm, because each tunnel is formed from the intersection of 2 'sheets' of 3D noise, the 3D noises can be switched to create differing mixes of 2D 'fissures' and 1D tunnels. 3 3D noises can create 4 underground 'biomes': 2 tunnel systems. 1 tunnel system, 1 fissure. 2 fissures. 3 fissures. |

i also find the tunnels don't need a lot of octaves to look good, the smallest octave's spread is 48 nodes, makes them rather smooth but i like that abstract form (i will now develop my mod with the biomes feature) |
