{Main} (13/07/18 02:22:34) [DanTheGuy]: When I delete blocks ít says hacker you |
00:26 |
IhrFussel |
Broken 3rd-party client app? ^ |
00:26 |
red-001 |
paramat, wonder what would happen if you reported it to github |
00:28 |
paramat |
yeah i wondered if it would go against github rules, but we might be able to apply pressure other ways first |
00:28 |
IhrFussel |
^ ^ happens with all nodes the player says ... possibly digging the air node in front of the real ones? |
00:29 |
xerox123_ |
PLZ PLZ PLZ Make youtube video if you like my bot :{ ) |
00:29 |
paramat |
'delete blocks' = digging nodes? |
00:29 |
paramat |
lol |
00:29 |
xerox123_ |
XD |
00:29 |
IhrFussel |
Yes there is no other way for him to delete nodes...has no WE or similar |
00:30 |
paramat |
yes the 'you hacker you' is due to having air or ignore in inventory |
00:30 |
red-001 |
^ |
00:31 |
paramat |
maybe a hacked or weird client |
00:34 |
IhrFussel |
He receives invisible nodes so it's pretty much confirmed now |
00:34 |
IhrFussel |
Can air/ignore be placed? |
00:34 |
red-001 |
no |
00:35 |
IhrFussel |
Ok good then the worst that can happen is him having the inventory full of invisible nodes ... do air/ignore nodes stack to 99? |
00:35 |
* red-001 |
¯_(ツ)_/¯ |
00:39 |
IhrFussel |
How can that happen though? I thought all app devs pretty much do is adding ad banner somewhere in the code + possibly some paywall for certain privs |
00:40 |
IhrFussel |
Them touching the dig code is weird |
00:40 |
paramat |
they do much more than that, some will hack anything they can |
00:41 |
IhrFussel |
But it's definitely an app from the App Store (iOS) |
00:43 |
paramat |
so? |
00:43 |
paramat |
maybe just a buggy app |
00:58 |
IhrFussel |
alt-account on same IP "I'm not xyz I'm her friend" |
01:00 |
IhrFussel |
The "friend" certainly doesn't live in the same household/share the same device |
01:01 |
IhrFussel |
Off for today, see ya =) |
01:08 |
paramat |
KGM is such a dick :) |
01:14 |
red-001 |
paramat, huh? |
01:17 |
paramat |
like, generally :) |
01:17 |
red-001 |
paramat, by exploits they mean viruses, rootkits and the like |
01:18 |
red-001 |
not really applicable |
01:18 |
paramat |
yes i suspected that |
01:18 |
red-001 |
technically cheating software might fall under some computer misuse legislation |
01:19 |
red-001 |
if you really stretch it that is |
01:20 |
paramat |
yes, edited |
01:21 |
red-001 |
paramat, how old did he say he was anyways? |
01:21 |
red-001 |
github can't let people under 13 have accounts because US law |
01:22 |
paramat |
not sure but someone said around early teens |
01:23 |
red-001 |
wonder how strongly that is enforced |
01:24 |
red-001 |
would be somewhat funny if someone para-phrasing "I wasn't born yesterday" required support to intervene |
01:26 |
red-001 |
paramat, does him having a bot on his account really change much? |
01:28 |
paramat |
i'm not asking them to be removed |

Server owners and staff, look out for players with the name "AyyLMAO" and "Rexism8" (probably the same person). They spammed for hours in CTF saying "HEIL HITLER" and "I LIKE JEWS". From what I've heard, they've been to a few other servers and spammed the same way. |
06:14 |
ANAND |
They also do some black-magic to hide their name in the game chat, but it's clearly visible on IRC and Discord. |

To check if hitter and player are not the same is obsolete inside punchplayer() correct? |
15:20 |
Krock |
in my last incompatible CAO version testing the player should still hit themselves |
15:20 |
Krock |
it's also required on your server because the luckyblock uses player:punch(player, ..) |

My cheap smartphone just received a software update...I didn't know that the manufacturer would care enough to push updates to it |
21:21 |
IhrFussel |
It's a $65 phone and the update is huge (550 MB) |
21:24 |
Sokomine |
IhrFussel: that's very odd. when did you buy the phone? |
21:25 |
IhrFussel |
It isn't old (released 2017), just cheap and I thought manufacturers would only care about their flagship devices |
21:27 |
Sokomine |
well, that's good. now, if you can root it, it may even be a decent defice - even if it was cheap |
21:30 |
rubenwardy |
:D |
21:30 |
rubenwardy |
with treble, you'll get faster Android updates |
21:31 |
rubenwardy |
as the manufactorers won't need to do so many hacks |
21:31 |
rubenwardy |
well |
21:31 |
rubenwardy |
all their hacks will be in one place rather than scattered around |
21:31 |

so it should be as simple as compiling the new SDK + testing |

Can 550 MB just be security updates? The change log is empty for some reason |
21:42 |
rubenwardy |
perfectly possible if it's a new kernel image and such |
21:44 |
sfan5 |
kernel updates are not half a gigabyte, especially not on embedded devices |
21:49 |
IhrFussel |
550 MB *before* extracting ... when I download the update from their website it is 1.3 GB |

21:52 |

How do you have a 60GB android folder? |
21:52 |

21:54 |
rubenwardy |
such fun |
21:54 |
garywhite |
oh, now it makes sense |
21:55 |
tumeninodes |
for Android, the Google apps are ridiculously huge |
21:55 |
tumeninodes |
and they just keep growing, and growing |
21:56 |
rubenwardy |
thing is, git doesn't scale very well so you can't use it to version the android sources |
21:56 |
rubenwardy |
instead you use a tool called repo which manages a ton of git repos |
21:56 |
rubenwardy |
it took about an hour to download all the AOSP sources on a 100 Mbps connection |
21:57 |
tumeninodes |

here's the repo manifest: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest/+/master/default.xml |

21:58 |
tumeninodes |
too bad they won't splurge on some team of wizards to greatly reduce the fluff which has built up within the OS and their apps |
21:58 |
rubenwardy |
ctrl+f = 651 |
21:59 |
rubenwardy |
phone storage increases |
21:59 |
tumeninodes |
What? |
21:59 |
rubenwardy |
the sort of people that do app development have the latest phones |
21:59 |
rubenwardy |
for example, at work we use Pixel 2s |
21:59 |
rubenwardy |
so they're sheltered from low end phones |
22:00 |
rubenwardy |
the amount of space in the latest top phone increases every year |
22:00 |
rubenwardy |
and so does app size |
22:00 |
tumeninodes |
I still have an HTC 710c, and I still love it |
22:00 |
rubenwardy |
also, worth noting that it's the OEM that adds a lot of the bloat anyway |
22:01 |
IhrFussel |
rubenwardy, is Android 7.0 relatively safe still? Or has it lots of exploits/bugs already? |
22:01 |

brand and guarantee of quality |
22:10 |
rubenwardy |
not sure I'd qualify those as ok specs ;) |
22:10 |
rubenwardy |
also, the relationship been clock speed and quality is non-linear |
22:11 |

I have yet to find an app that doesn't run on it to be honest...of course it won't be able to manage 60 fps in 3D games, but for that price I'm kinda impressed |
22:11 |
rubenwardy |
for me it's not an issue of will it run, but will it run well |
22:12 |
tumeninodes |
for me..., it's "how often can I just forget it at home, and not be chained too it, and everyone on the other end" |
22:13 |

sounds like you need Shara's phone then |

cellphones > smartphones have caused more decay than progress, regardless of how much they progress in tech |

haha, we've spoken on the subject before... mostly on the same page |

I remember my first phone ever (~ 2001)... Nokia 3310 ... snake was pretty fun xP |
22:15 |
tumeninodes |
snake... was... epic |
22:16 |

The original was yep...but not the modern clones of it IMO lol |

22:19 |
rubenwardy |
oo |
22:19 |
rubenwardy |
can I have that ,Sokomine? |
22:19 |
rubenwardy |

22:19 |
rubenwardy |
They're a collectors item1 |
22:19 |
rubenwardy |
actually worth something, iirc |
22:21 |
Sokomine |
rubenwardy: no, sorry. it's still working as a night clock and alarm clock |
22:21 |
Sokomine |
even used it as a phone last year because my more modern one is too big for my hands :-(. the old g1 was nice |
22:22 |
rubenwardy |
:D |
22:22 |
Sokomine |
i'd sleep over without it :-) and i still prefer its shape |
22:23 |
rubenwardy |
actually, they're not that expensiv |
22:23 |
Sokomine |
that ancient version of anrdoid had an app that allowed to turn the screen into red and eliminiate all other colors. that's extremly convenient at night when a too bright light would be annoying |
22:23 |
rubenwardy |
nice |
22:23 |
Sokomine |
well, then, get one :-) they're fine devices. just won't run mt |
22:24 |
Sokomine |
havn't seen anything like that for newer versions |
22:24 |
tumeninodes |
I also have my old samsung intercept... is that worth anything? :D |
22:24 |
Sokomine |
as far as mt goes: runs fine on my current phone (which is...inconvenient if actually trying to phone or operate it one-handed...the choice i have regarding new phones is between toys and too big ones and apple) |
22:25 |
Sokomine |
an old tablet with 0.5 gb ram suffered too much with mt. just not enough ram i think |
22:26 |
tumeninodes |
haha, the intercept still fires up woohoo |
22:27 |
tumeninodes |
I got my youngest the nexus7 tablet when it was the new, hot thing... still have that, still gets updates but the screen has a crack and cost 1/2 what I paid for it to replace :D |
22:27 |
Sokomine |
rubenwardy: if you ever find a browser that can actually be used on an android device please tell me. i havn't found anything suitable yet. something like requestpolicy or umatrix is my minimum requirement |
22:27 |
rubenwardy |
huh |
22:27 |
rubenwardy |
firefox + plugins? |
22:28 |
Sokomine |
the tablet that doesn't run mt very well was extremly cheap. only 40 euro. can't expect much for that |
22:28 |
Sokomine |
and that was some years ago |
22:28 |
Sokomine |
rubenwardy: those plugins don't seem to be available for the mobile versioin |
22:28 |

My $65 phone runs MT @ 20 fps ... not perfect but playable |
22:43 |
IhrFussel |
Certain items cannot be placed in 3rd-person mode ... is that a bug or does MT just not support it? |
22:48 |
IhrFussel |
Pointing at nodes behaves weird in 3rd-person ... looks like you can only point at very close ones |
