01:53 IhrFussel sallee is back on my server, but I cant join right now so not sure what they are doing
01:57 IhrFussel Idling but since auto forward (or whatever they use) doesnt send key info that means nothing
02:06 IhrFussel okay one player confirms sallee is floating mid air again but not moving it seems... player is ~ 5,000 nodes away from spawn
02:07 Shara IhrFussel: need me to check?
02:07 IhrFussel What's weird is that sallee didnt get logged in my code
02:07 Shara I'll tak e alook
02:07 IhrFussel If you want sure :)

02:52 redblade7 hi
02:52 redblade7 back
02:52 redblade7 lemme scroll up and see the latest news
03:15 IhrFussel just 2 bots earlier on my server... sallee (strangely didnt move this time) and digdoug (who moved but was kicked after 2h cause "idle" since they send no key info when moving)
03:16 redblade7 hey umm
03:16 redblade7 is it possible that the use of iptables to block those ips could be causing ridiculous lag of like 42?
03:18 redblade7 because that's what's happening
03:18 IhrFussel you mean ping?
03:18 redblade7 the lag in /status
03:19 redblade7 and complaining players
03:19 IhrFussel 42 secs lag???
03:19 redblade7 hmm not on my other servers
03:19 IhrFussel check top command first
03:19 redblade7 top command?
03:20 redblade7 top on the vps you mean?
03:20 IhrFussel not on linux?
03:20 redblade7 oh ok
03:20 redblade7 i just joined empty server and it went from <1 lag to 27!
03:20 IhrFussel top in terminal if you use linux...on win no clue
03:21 redblade7 lol i am using a vps
03:21 redblade7 i thought you meant a command in minetest
03:21 IhrFussel vps also have linux or win
03:21 redblade7 windows you can download procexp
03:21 redblade7 from sysinternals
03:22 redblade7 cpu is fine, no swap used
03:22 IhrFussel you cannot check what the machine is doing via mt :P ... check CPU/ram load
03:22 redblade7 the only thing i did was add iptables for all those ranges in gorilla servers
03:22 redblade7 does that cause minetest lag?
03:22 redblade7 like going through each packet or something?
03:23 IhrFussel if you added lots of entries it could have an impact maybe
03:23 redblade7 it was quite a lot, i thought we were all adding those
03:24 IhrFussel remove them again and see if lag is normal
03:24 redblade7 https://www.enjen.net/asn-blocklist/index.php?asn=AS53850&type=iptables
03:26 redblade7 all of those
03:27 IhrFussel remove and check the lag...if its gone it was iptables
03:28 AndroBuilder joined #minetest-hub
03:28 redblade7 players are starting to ask questions...
03:29 redblade7 what ips did everyone else add then, of those?
03:30 redblade7 i flushed it and people are still complaining
03:30 IhrFussel I didn't add any cause none of the ones Megaf listed connected to my server yet
03:30 redblade7 i had one
03:30 redblade7 i guess i just have to add that block
03:31 IhrFussel Pre-emptive adding of IPs makes no sense
03:33 redblade7 well that's what i thought everyone was doing, the whole gorillaservers. and now i have to come up with an explanation because players are asking questions
03:36 IhrFussel just remove most IP rules and lag should be fine again...tell them there was a heavy task running
03:36 IhrFussel which is actually true in case it was really caused by iptables
03:38 redblade7 ok
04:37 redblade7 yep it was iptables
04:37 redblade7 i stuck to the 3 ranges mentioned in that link which included the three ips megaf mentioned
04:38 redblade7 plus what i had before, to stop serious griefers
04:38 redblade7 goodnight
07:49 Megaf Good morning everyone
07:50 Megaf 03:31 <IhrFussel> Pre-emptive adding of IPs makes no sense

08:59 Megaf Hello Jordach
09:06 Jordach how would i use the minetest --server command to add mods to a game
09:06 Jordach since using the customise menu is inaccessible on a dedi
09:09 Megaf Jordach: you just put the mods in the minetest/mods server
09:10 Megaf then you edit worlds/worldname/world.mt and add load_mod_modname = true
09:10 Megaf if you run server before editing the file it will add the line for you, but it will be set to false by default

12:26 IhrFussel Very weird...the "bot" sent /status which no other did before I think [digdoug]: /status

13:00 Megaf I don't get it

13:02 IhrFussel Megaf, do you log the chat commands? If so did they send those on your server too?
13:03 Megaf I think I only log actions
13:03 Megaf I recently increased the verbosity, but didnt put the server up yet
13:03 Megaf Im crushing the textures
13:07 IhrFussel Is player:get_pos() head or feet pos?
13:08 sfan5 feet
13:11 IhrFussel So local y = math.floor(pos.y+0.5) local checky = pos.y-2 ... checky should return the node below the one the player is standing on, but seems like I did something wrong?
13:13 IhrFussel I think I forgot .name in minetest.get_node()
13:13 sfan5 local below = minetest.get_node({x=pos.x, y=math.floor(pos.y-0.5), z=pos.z}).name
13:13 sfan5 something like that should work
13:15 IhrFussel I didn't have .name and compared it without to "air" xP
13:23 IhrFussel Okay works now and my code should be able to detect those floating bots pretty reliably now =P
13:30 Megaf IhrFussel: don't forge to post your mod in -dev

13:42 Megaf IhrFussel: feel free to use http://git.megaf.info/ :P

15:38 Mr-Pardison well, sometimes we all need a hug.
15:39 IhrFussel I'd argue that virtual hugs don't help that much in such a case
15:40 IhrFussel Or real hugs would have a much much larger effect

16:17 red-001 this is very much on-topic
16:17 Sokomine well, yes. but those who might profit from reading it won't be anyway. they're not in this channel and have no reason to read the logs
16:18 red-001 off creates some sort of strange presure to keep using it even when the conversation comes back to stuff that belongs in the logs
16:18 Sokomine if you see a moderator who does not act right talk to that particular person and explain your reasoning. that might actually help a bit
16:18 IhrFussel I wrote it as off cause I didn't want to make it look like I advertize myself as the best admin or something like that
16:24 IhrFussel Guys how can I accept a channel invite?
16:24 IhrFussel Just join the channel?
16:25 Sokomine hmm. afaik you just join the channel

17:36 sofar https://i.imgur.com/cZ6Ujot.jpg
17:36 sofar anyone want?
17:36 sofar 32kmx16km map
17:37 Megaf sofar: why not
17:37 ThomasMonroe lol
17:37 Megaf sofar: how do you want to send it?
17:37 sofar I'm gonna have to setup a torrent tracker for it, lol
17:37 sofar it's huge
17:37 sofar 5.5g
17:37 Megaf I can even make a ssh account here and you can rsync it to me
17:37 Megaf rsync will compress
17:37 sofar map.sqlite is already compressed
17:38 Megaf sofar: well, with transmission is easy enough to make a hash for it to send it
17:39 rubenwardy where did you get that from?
17:39 rubenwardy or how did you make it
17:39 sofar a MT map made by someone several years back
17:39 rubenwardy interesting
17:39 Mr-Pardison huh.
17:39 sofar the problem is you can't just convert it straight up
17:39 rubenwardy do you mean MC map?
17:39 sofar since you'll get a map without any trees
17:39 sofar MC, sorry, yes
17:39 rubenwardy ah right
17:40 rubenwardy well, I'd be interested in a torrent for it
17:40 sofar so I've had to fully explore this map with MC using an automated bot, essentially
17:40 sofar to make the MC client generate all the vegetation
17:40 sofar you get villages as a bonus
17:41 sofar took me 3+ weeks to get this far
17:41 sofar the conversion is 4 days of time
17:41 Megaf sofar: I can put a server online and you can be one of the admins
17:41 sofar trimming the edges takes several hours, even, lol
17:41 rubenwardy lol
17:42 sofar I also had to "translate" the entire map 16 km sideways
17:42 sofar otherwise it would exceed MT's limits
17:42 sofar and you'd lose about 1km on one side
17:43 sofar I still have to do some more trimming
17:43 sofar and there's 3 little spots where vegetation is missing :/
17:43 Megaf well, send me the DHT hash when you are finished
17:44 Megaf I can leave it seeding on my dedicated if you wish too
17:45 sofar it'll take me a few more days to get it "ready"
17:45 Shara Looks like a fun map to wander round on if anyone hosts it :)
17:46 sofar yeah
17:46 rubenwardy needs a mod to allow you to select a position to teleport to
17:46 Shara Teleport by country :)
17:46 sofar could make it into a minigame
17:46 ThomasMonroe I would be interested in wandering around on that map :D
17:46 Shara Airports you can teleport from maybe
17:46 sofar "type the name of the country to guess your location!"
17:46 Mr-Pardison I'd take over the southern portion of the U.S.
17:47 sofar bomb it?
17:47 ThomasMonroe you and me both :P
17:47 ThomasMonroe nope, build a giant boot there :)
17:47 Mr-Pardison bomb where I'd take over?
17:47 Sokomine sofar: why without any trees?
17:47 Mr-Pardison you wouldn't want to do that as we can make pecan pie, peach cobbler and other deserts.
17:47 sofar Sokomine: MC client places them on mapblock load
17:48 Sokomine does that map contain intresting buildings? anyway...too large to handle. identify good builds and save those individually
17:48 sofar just MC buildings
17:48 Mr-Pardison famous landmarks and some interesting natural formations.
17:49 Fixer sofar: no need for tracker, just create a torrent file (add it to your torrent client, run it), share torrent file with everyone
17:49 Mr-Pardison hello Fixer
17:49 Fixer sofar: i mean you can reuse other public trackers
17:50 Fixer hi
17:50 Mr-Pardison saw you posted a thing on technic's GitHub page.
17:50 Mr-Pardison I totally agree with that but would it be like a book that provides detailed information on how to do stuff with technic and make technic items?
17:50 Fixer sofar: how it looks ingame?
17:51 Sokomine besides...i'd still welcome feedback on the amount of houses created by my basic_houses mod
17:51 Megaf welp. LibreOffice doesnt work on macOS
17:51 sofar it's nice, obviously, especially with the snow and plant/tree covers
17:51 Sokomine doesn't take much more than download three mods, starting a new world and flying around
17:52 rubenwardy !mod basic_houses
17:52 MinetestBot rubenwardy: Could not find anything.
17:52 rubenwardy https://github.com/Sokomine/basic_houses
17:53 Sokomine rubenwardy: not yet released. the mod places generated houses on the map. they vary in size and materials and are shells for players to expand. i need feedback if the amount of them created is suitable
17:53 Sokomine you need basic_houses, handle_schematics and plasterwork. the last one is optional but helps to get more colorful buildings and is therefore highly recommended
17:54 Fixer sofar: vertical scale?
17:54 sofar Fixer: I would prefer this torrent not to sit in between malware and pr0n... so I'm a bit skeptical of using pub trackers tbh
17:54 sofar Fixer: -65 to +100 or so
17:55 Fixer sofar: no, it does not work like that
17:55 rubenwardy ha, it crashed
17:55 Fixer sofar: what I mean, just create torrent file with some public tracker list (to speed up search), and then publish this torrent file on minetest forum
17:55 rubenwardy what version does it require?
17:55 rubenwardy netest-stable/bin/../mods/basic_houses/init.lua:350: attempt to call field 'itemstring_with_palette' (a nil value)
17:55 Krock joined #minetest-hub
17:56 Fixer sofar: it will not sit near malware nor pron
17:56 sofar "some public tracker list" ?
17:56 sofar I used to seed torrents, it's been like 10 years I think
17:56 sofar maybe more
17:57 Fixer sofar: when you create a torrent, it asks if you want to announce it on some tracker, or you can left it blank, it should still work via dht, just a bit slower search of peer
17:58 sofar is rtorrent capable of creating ?
18:00 rubenwardy how does one seed from a headless server?
18:00 sofar run rtorrent :)
18:00 Fixer sofar: no idea
18:00 sofar that's how I intend to seed
18:01 sofar so I can seed and limit BW properly to comply with my ISP BW allowance
18:01 Fixer sofar: you need to install mktorrent to create torrent for rtorrent
18:01 rubenwardy why is there adduser and useradd, so stupid
18:02 Fixer sofar: BW allowance, jeez, are you on phone or smth
18:02 sofar haha, yes, it's hugely annoying :)
18:02 sofar 1tb a month, 20mbit/s allowed for torrents
18:02 sofar that's the free allowance of my hoster
18:02 Fixer ah
18:02 Fixer hoster
18:03 sofar if I cap the torrent at ~2.5mbit then I won't ever exceed 1tb/mo I reckon
18:03 Fixer sofar: it is not like there is tons of players who will download 5gb... of it, is it compressed btw?
18:04 Fixer sofar: https://bytesized-hosting.com/pages/how-to-create-a-torrent-using-mktorrent
18:04 sofar map.sqlite already contains compressed mapblocks
18:04 Fixer not really good compressed
18:04 sofar so I'm tarballing it up but it will still be 5.5gb
18:04 Fixer sofar: i've recompressed via 7zip, it had pretty big effect
18:04 Fixer iirc
18:04 sofar I'll xz it to annoy windows users
18:05 Fixer noo, 7zip can open it though
18:05 Fixer wait a sec
18:05 sfan5 there is no need to make a torrent of a tarball
18:05 sfan5 that's just annoying
18:05 Krock 7z can open pretty much everything
18:05 sfan5 you can create torrents of multiple file just fine
18:06 Fixer yes
18:06 sofar sure, that's not a bad idea
18:06 rubenwardy stupid Ubuntu, I can't install any packages or upgrade to a newer dist version as they turned the repos off
18:06 Fixer on the other hand
18:06 sofar $ time sqlite3 map.sqlite 'vacuum'
18:06 sofar lol, gonna see how long it takes
18:06 Fixer zip compresses it a lot
18:06 sfan5 rubenwardy: http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/
18:07 ThomasMonroe is there a way to have Minetest output more than what it already gives me?
18:07 rubenwardy ?
18:07 ThomasMonroe like a verbose option?
18:07 Krock ThomasMonroe, set debug level to verbose
18:07 sfan5 rubenwardy: point the sources.list there
18:07 rubenwardy ah, right
18:07 ThomasMonroe how would I do that Krock?
18:07 Fixer sofar: zip compressed database in half
18:08 rubenwardy so from http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ to http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/
18:08 sofar so compressing would actually help a lot
18:08 sfan5 Fixer: that depends on how much empty space sqlite3 left in your file
18:08 rubenwardy or without the /releases/
18:08 Krock ThomasMonroe, Minetest -> Advanced Settings -> Search "log"
18:08 Fixer so instead of 5.5 gb, you will have near 3gb
18:08 sofar real11m8.643s
18:08 ThomasMonroe ah found it its --verbose
18:08 sfan5 rubenwardy: w/o afaik
18:08 sofar only removed ~50mb from map.sqlite... expected
18:08 Fixer sfan5: i've tested on one small world and on 1.4gb server world - both had near 50% compression
18:09 Krock sofar, set up a http server so people can flood you with GET requests for the huge file 8)
18:09 sfan5 well node names are duplicated too, so i guess it will help somewhat
18:09 sofar Krock: sure, I'll get right on that
18:10 Fixer map.sqlite - 1.28gb, map.sqlite.zip - 0.69gb
18:10 sofar throwing it in a zip... just for kicks to see what size it ends up
18:10 sofar I still need to re-prune it properly, I left too much on the sides
18:11 Krock Fixer, amazing how much one can compress gzip-ped data even more :)
18:11 Fixer zlib-ped
18:11 Fixer or whatever
18:11 Krock deflate-zipped
18:12 rubenwardy thanks, that works
18:12 rubenwardy I needed http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu.
18:12 sofar adding: Earth_by_Lentebriesje/map.sqlite (deflated 39%)
18:13 sofar oh, that's totally worth doing
18:13 sofar -rw-r--r-- 1 sofar sofar 3.3G Feb 1 10:12 Earth_by_Lentebriesje.zip
18:13 Fixer and it is just zip, that sucks
18:13 Fixer 7zip, xz can probably compress it even more
18:14 CWz is there anything better then 7z
18:14 Krock LZMA3 (TM) coming soon (TM) in 2043
18:14 Fixer i mean zip itself sucks in terms of compression, but result is impressive
18:14 Fixer 7z compresses roughly to 50%
18:15 sofar not wasting your time worrying about compression algorithms is better than anything
18:15 Fixer sofar: go with zip
18:15 sofar zip will be easiest
18:15 sofar so yeag
18:15 sofar so yeah...
18:15 rubenwardy install update, this will make my bouncer offline o/
18:16 Fixer map.sqlite - 1.28gb, map.sqlite.zip - 0.69gb, map.sqlite.7z - 0.65gb
18:17 rubenwardy huh, maybe not then
18:17 Fixer oh, there is xz compressor in 7z
18:17 Fixer same as 7z it seems
18:25 sfan5 xz implements LZMA, as does 7zip
18:30 sofar https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=19564

18:33 sfan5 sofar: two of the trackers you added don't exist since anymore since a few years
18:33 sofar sfan5: ?
18:33 Megaf I should stop thinking now
18:33 sfan5 s/since//
18:33 sofar sfan5: I have no idea what trackers to use, which is why I asked
18:34 sofar https://memegenerator.net/img/instances/500x/40668475/oh-now-you-tell-me.jpg
18:34 Megaf sofar: no need for trackers, just use DHT
18:35 sofar I have no idea what you're talking about
18:35 sfan5 if you manage to edit the trackers inside the .torrent file, here's a few working ones: udp://tracker.leechers-paradise.org:6969 udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969 udp://tracker.zer0day.to:1337/announce
18:36 sfan5 DHT is a distributed (peer-to-peer) ways of finding seeds for a particular torrent, it works in most cases but is slower at finding some, which is why having trackers is still preferred
18:37 sofar I understand the technology, I just haven't used the tooling for it in 12 years
18:37 Megaf This is all that is needed for torrents
18:37 sofar mktorrent --help | grep -i dht .....
18:37 sofar I am just rolling a new torrent
18:37 sfan5 that works too
18:37 sfan5 dht is not something you need to enable in the torrent file though
18:38 Megaf I have my laptop and dedicated downloading, tho it's not downloading yet
18:38 sofar I'm recreating the torrent file
18:39 sofar get the new one
18:39 Megaf and openbittorrent is a good tracker
18:40 sfan5 Megaf: it's been dead since years
18:40 ThomasMonroe Megaf #7000
18:41 ShadowBot https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/7000 -- Postprocessing by ThomasMonroe314
18:41 sofar looks like l-p announce worked, if I read rtorrent correctly
18:41 sofar the other 2 sfan5 posted I don't see myself seeding I think
18:41 sfan5 takes some time until it will announces there
18:41 sofar ok
18:41 sfan5 i'm not seeing any seeders on my side though
18:41 sofar Peer list 0: udp://tracker.leechers-paradise.org:6969
18:41 sofar Id: Counters: 0f / 1s (0) on S/L/D: 1/0/0 (1/1)
18:42 sfan5 exact same thing here with s/l/d 0/1/0
18:42 Megaf you hsould be the only seed sofar
18:42 sfan5 oh
18:42 sofar hence s/l/d 1/0/0
18:42 sfan5 sofar: you made a mistake while adding trackers, all of the trackers are on the same tier
18:43 ThomasMonroe joined #minetest-hub
18:43 sfan5 torrents sure are complicated...
18:43 sofar translate?
18:43 Megaf ThomasMonroe: whoops https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/5932#issuecomment-350413460
18:43 sfan5 clients will only user later trackers of the same tier if earlier ones fail
18:43 sfan5 so effectively your torrent only has a single tracker, my client happens to be asking the wrong one; which is why i'm not seeing you seeding
18:44 sfan5 s/(use)r/\1//
18:44 sofar hmmm, I'm not sure what to do about that
18:45 sfan5 well i'm not sure how this would work with mktorrent
18:45 paramat joined #minetest-hub
18:45 sfan5 i can fix your torrent file and give it back though
18:46 sofar just grab it from the forum and re-upload it
18:46 sofar and I'll get the updated version after you do
18:47 sfan5 that's what i mean, sorry for the lousy articulation of my idea
18:48 sofar nah, I get it, it's just that I have no clue to fix it, lol

18:51 sfan5 🤔
18:51 sofar fine, I'll use 3 hops to get to it
18:52 * Mr-Pardison hands sofar 3 rabbits
18:53 Megaf sofar: you can send to be using dd and netcat...
18:54 Megaf dd if=file.zip | nc megaf's IP
18:54 Megaf and I do nc port | of=file.zip I guess
18:54 Megaf or something like that
18:54 sofar hash checking...
18:54 sfan5 why use http when you have netcat?
18:55 sofar ok, get the new torrent file from the forum post, and go ahead and seed
18:55 sofar looks like it's already working, too
18:55 sofar got one peer killing my bandwidth already
18:56 sfan5 "killing my bw" but that's just 250 KB/s
18:57 sofar better?
18:57 Megaf sfan5: Can you paste the hash please?
18:57 sfan5 Info hash: 803D1C25906EFFE6F931280923D3AFDE6192EFFD
18:59 Megaf I don't thing this is working
18:59 Megaf Transmission sees no peers
18:59 sofar I'm uploading
18:59 sfan5 add some trackers
19:01 Megaf ok, the trackers do see you
19:03 sofar maybe a firewall issue
19:04 Megaf Not really, I have other torrents downloading no problem
19:04 Megaf and my laptop isnt downloading the world nor my dedicated
19:04 Megaf tho my dedicated sees 3 peers

19:09 sfan5 correct
19:09 sfan5 17% to be exact
19:10 sofar in turn sfan5 should be seeding back as well? so you should be getting something...
19:10 sfan5 if there was sombody to seed to, yes
19:10 sfan5 +e
19:15 * Megaf starts using all sfan5s bw
19:16 Megaf 8 MB/s not bad
19:16 * sofar & work
19:19 IhrFussel Lol... I got a PM in the forum...subject "I request the source code of your server mod" ... rude much?
19:19 rubenwardy depends on the rest of the phrasing
19:19 Mr-Pardison very much so.
19:20 IhrFussel No, the subject is rude as heck cause nobody has the right to "request" anything
19:20 rubenwardy from just that I'd see yes though, sounds demanding
19:20 rubenwardy sure they do
19:20 rubenwardy doesn't mean you'll say yes
19:21 IhrFussel The content then states that they couldn't find the source code on my github/forum thread and would like to have the source code
19:21 sofar is it agpl licensed?
19:21 rubenwardy they have the ability to ask, but doesn't mean you have to nice it to them
19:21 rubenwardy *give
19:23 IhrFussel I don't license mods that I don't plan to distribute ... I gladly help out when someone needs help with their code or when I think I created something critical (like the "bot detector" script)
19:23 Shara A request is just a request... quite different from a demand
19:23 rubenwardy exactly
19:23 rubenwardy request is a formal word for ask
19:23 IhrFussel Shara, the wording sounded rude
19:23 rubenwardy it's a bit rude without please or less formality
19:24 Shara Consider the person might not be first language english and so on.
19:24 IhrFussel Please should be one of the first words anyone learns
19:24 Shara Should doesn't mean is.
19:25 IhrFussel In Germany you learn it in 3rd grade ... other countries messed up if they forgot to teach that
19:25 Shara If you need to wait until school to learn politeness, I'd question german parenting... :P
19:26 IhrFussel I meant the English "please"
19:26 IhrFussel 3rd grade is when English at school starts
19:26 Shara Hmm, interesting.
19:27 IhrFussel Most kids are 9 by then
19:27 Mr_Pardison joined #minetest-hub
19:27 Shara I was teaching children much younger than that, but Austria instead
19:28 IhrFussel Well English is the only foreign language (until 5/6th grade I think) that German kids learn so early
19:28 ThomasMonroe bbiab gtg outside with my siblings
19:41 Megaf [19:19:21] <IhrFussel> Lol... I got a PM in the forum...subject "I request the source code of your server mod" ... rude much?
19:41 Megaf as said, if English is not the first language, then it's not rude
19:41 Megaf lots of latin based language speakers would phrase like that
19:41 Megaf for us request means ask for
19:42 Megaf Still, people should at least try to use proper English
19:43 IhrFussel A simple "please" would have made it sound a lot nicer
19:43 Mr_Pardison IhrFussel: I agree.
19:45 Megaf IhrFussel: In Brazil for example "Please"is almost never used
19:45 Megaf just by old and very well educated people
19:45 Megaf They have other ways of making the "request" a nice request
19:56 Fixer my client says there is 2/5, dl have not started, yet
20:02 Megaf my dedicated isnt donwloading yet either
20:23 Sokomine can someone do me a favor and make a mod available for me? it seems to be placed somewhere on google. can't find a download link - only something hidden behind javascript or even signing in
20:26 paramat Sokomine i will if i can, what are you after?
20:28 Sokomine paramat: someone wrote a mod that generates houses as well. with a command instead of by mapgen and limited to mineclone2, but much more detailled than my mod. case of similar idea at the same time it seems. i'd love to take a look at it. it's this thread: https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19484
20:32 Fixer minetest - delivering bugs of minecraft beta in 2018
20:32 Fixer 1) falling throu block
20:32 rubenwardy sofar: sorted the torrent issue?
20:33 rubenwardy any magnet links?
20:33 rubenwardy lol, there's no peers seeding
20:34 Fixer firewall issue?
20:34 Fixer i can't dl either
20:34 Fixer i had no such problems when hosted torrent myself (of mt world)
20:35 Hijiri torrent of what?
20:35 Sokomine Fixer: falling through slabs is sometimes fun :-) you got to have some bugs to enjoy from time to time *g*
20:35 Fixer Sokomine: and full blocks
20:35 Fixer and stairs
20:35 Hijiri is that the thing when you land on an edge sometimes
20:35 Sokomine havn't fallen through full blocks yet. slabs, yes, often. stairs not so often
20:36 Sokomine no. when you move up a staircase (usually with slabs) and press the sneak key. then you'll sometimes fall through
20:36 Hijiri oh
20:36 Sokomine just don't press sneak then and all will be fine
20:36 Hijiri I've seen an issue where sometimes you can jump into a full block if you land on the edge between two blocks
20:36 Fixer also
20:37 Sokomine never tried such precice jumping. might be another bug or related
20:37 Fixer in mc beta i can rely on holding SHIFT, i will never have accident, in minetest - don't rely on shift, you will die
20:41 Fixer unsync block placing = pain in the ass

20:41 Megaf it has always been there
20:42 Megaf If you go to my server, you will notice a big run under the static spawn point. I built it because players would often sink through the ground
20:42 Megaf and get stuck in the ground
20:45 Hijiri what about the die and teleport to 0,0,0 bug
20:45 Hijiri is that fixed
20:45 paramat Sokomine the link shows me a sign-in form for google-drive, so the mod is unaccessible for most people
20:46 paramat oh hang on
20:46 paramat first link works
20:46 rubenwardy got it
20:46 rubenwardy nvm
20:46 Fixer Hijiri: should be

20:51 Hijiri Fixer: Sokomine: ah, ok
20:51 Sokomine that's right. thanks, paramat. megaf: uff. don't know if i even got torrent installed. maybe forum pn?
20:52 Megaf Sokomine: I just dont get what you cant download yourself from teh first link
20:52 Megaf I got it from the first link and made the torrent if you want to get via torrent
20:52 tumeninodes sofar: I will be helping to seed as soon as brasero picks up the pace on burning my data to dvd to make space
20:52 Fixer rubenwardy: wanna magnet? magnet:?xt=urn:btih:803D1C25906EFFE6F931280923D3AFDE6192EFFD
20:52 Megaf The mod LGPL 2.1 by the way
20:53 tumeninodes stupid basero why you so slow!?
20:53 Sokomine megaf: maybe the link does not work for me because i do not allow javascript on most sites
21:07 paramat i tried both posted links, neither lead to any other download link i can share with you
21:10 paramat however
21:10 Sokomine oh? not even the first one? strange. megaf seems to have been successful; however, a torrent isn't something i can download easily either
21:11 paramat i could put it in a private repo of mine on github
21:11 paramat i mean, i can download it, but anyone blocking javascript cannot
21:11 Sokomine that would be helpful. just...somewhere where i can have a look at it. i'm very curious how it works as it's similar to what i've done up until now with that mod
21:11 paramat so it has to be hosted elsewhere for you to get it
21:12 paramat ok will do
21:12 Sokomine ah :-)
21:12 Sokomine thank you!
21:12 Sokomine basic_houses now supports realtest as well (to some degree). now i need to integrate the mechanism into mg_villages for the spawning of the lone houses and to avoid conflicts if both mods are installed
21:13 tumeninodes omg, using brasero is about as much fun as plucking your eyeballs out with a cocktail fork
21:14 IhrFussel My first ever repo on github! https://github.com/IhrFussel/minetest-logmapsize
21:14 Mr-Pardison tumeninodes: it's not a cocktail fork. it's that toothpick that they impale the olive in a martini on.
21:15 tumeninodes ohhhhhhh

21:20 Mr-Pardison have to keep your olives dry!
21:20 tumeninodes indeed
21:21 tumeninodes can't have wet olives in a dry martini
21:27 Megaf Sokomine: you got the mod already?

22:27 sofar 31000x16000 or so is the size of the image I made with minetestmapper of the map
22:27 Fixer ah
22:28 Fixer i can open this, but not via browser, give me a link
22:31 Fixer no more swastika on comcast first search page, sad
22:31 Fixer they deserve it
22:31 tumeninodes :D
22:32 rubenwardy I tried to open it in GIMP
22:32 Fixer that feel when internet from 3rd world country is better than in us
22:32 rubenwardy a photo viewer probably would have done better
22:32 tumeninodes rubenwardy... hahaha how long did that hang?
22:32 rubenwardy I killed it eventually
22:32 rubenwardy went into swap
22:32 tumeninodes :P
22:32 rubenwardy (8GB of memory)
22:32 Megaf wheres the image?
22:32 Fixer rubenwardy: can i get the image?
22:33 tumeninodes mssg: Gimp has quit
22:33 rubenwardy deleted it
22:33 tumeninodes suddenly all Gimp related website disappear fro the web entirely
22:34 Fixer rubenwardy: ragequit?
22:34 rubenwardy ?
22:34 tumeninodes haw
22:34 rubenwardy no, because I didn't want to accidentally open it
22:34 tumeninodes when you open it...., your lights will dim
22:35 tumeninodes your entire grid will shutdown
22:35 rubenwardy damn it
22:35 rubenwardy just manually calculated the co-ords for somewhere
22:35 Fixer now you want it to open but can't
22:36 rubenwardy ended up in sea :(
22:36 tumeninodes neighbors will hate you... even more
22:36 rubenwardy is the map centered?
22:36 Sokomine fixer: that feeling is not entirely unkown for people from germany either. especially when it gets to mobile internet. refugees may rightfully think that they came from developped countries and ended up in a backyard because wlan is rare. but that's all mostly due to the telecomunication companies wanting to get inappropriate amounts of money for their service plus another factor
22:37 sofar rubenwardy: yes
22:37 rubenwardy odd
22:37 sofar you end up near africa
22:37 sofar go north or east to closes land
22:37 tumeninodes cape horn mutha-------!!!!
22:37 sofar I'll post some coords as well for use with /tp
22:37 rubenwardy surely to work out co-ords it would be ((x/iw)*32000-16000), ((y/ih)*16000-8000)
22:38 rubenwardy where x, y, iw, ih are positions on heights on the map
22:38 sofar close
22:38 rubenwardy map being mapper image
22:38 sofar not entirely correct at high/low parts
22:38 Sokomine sofar: is it actually possible to see a significant part of the world? view range is usually short, and land needs to be loaded first
22:38 Megaf Closing one of my seeds
22:38 sofar I've set view range at 1000, you can see really far
22:38 sofar just gotta fly around a lot to let it load
22:38 Sokomine yes. you perhaps...i'm afraid my graphics card might object :/
22:39 sofar but yeah, I've made all of florida show
22:39 sofar for instance
22:39 tumeninodes o_0 1000??? my lappy will go into a seizure
22:39 sofar the entire UK isn't even that large
22:39 rubenwardy yeah. that's where I was heading for
22:39 rubenwardy ah, land!
22:39 sofar even without coords, its not so hard to get around
22:40 sofar just follow coastal lines and you'll make your way quickly to known territory
22:40 tumeninodes waiting for the classic question...... "what??? no mobs???"
22:42 sofar hey, there's villages
22:42 Fixer ofc no mobs, no ambience, what do you expect from MTG
22:42 sofar and pyramids
22:43 rubenwardy so, how's gonna host a server? XD
22:43 sofar I'd think twice about that and seriously inspect all the mods properly
22:43 sofar :)
22:44 tumeninodes well..., this is nice gift just keeps getting better and better
22:45 rubenwardy yay
22:45 rubenwardy by geography is good enough to find crete
22:45 rubenwardy also, there's lots of stone
22:45 tumeninodes hmmm, I don;t know if extraction has just quit... orrrrrr
22:46 tumeninodes ah, wait it;s all good... right back down to 7.8gb left for space :D
22:46 Megaf Ok, I gotta go. Will keep my dedicated seeding
22:47 tumeninodes see ya, and thank you
22:47 Megaf let me know if you need a seeder for any torrent, I got plenty of storage and bw
22:47 Megaf cya all
22:48 tumeninodes sofar, did you leave mesecons-master intentionally? meaning if I want to enable simply rename?
22:49 sofar it's a worldmod
22:49 sofar it's always enabled
22:49 tumeninodes right but in the folder it's labeled with -master
22:49 sofar mod.conf, so, no problems
22:50 tumeninodes i never even knew that :P
22:53 rubenwardy UK is -400,12,4735
22:54 sofar send more, added
22:54 sofar maybe do it by city?
22:54 sofar countries can be... large
22:54 rubenwardy well, that's bristol
22:54 Jordach *autistic hampshire screeching*
22:55 sofar someone give me some nice big cities and not rubentown
22:55 sofar :P
22:55 rubenwardy :'(
22:55 rubenwardy one of the biggest in the uK!
22:56 sofar half the people in #minetest thinks it's a shoe brand
22:56 Krock UK is a shoe brand
22:57 rubenwardy well, most people in here aren't geography-illerate americans
22:58 Sokomine the entire earth is a bit...big. europe would be intresting. apart from me living there, it is also rather small-scaled compared to other continents. some...chance at least to see something with slow network connection, disk space and not really gameplay-friendly graphics hardware :-)
22:59 sofar there are plenty of interesting regions if you want to "play" on it for real
22:59 tumeninodes ... so is Krock... :P
22:59 Sokomine too large for that i'm afraid
22:59 sofar nothing you couldn't do with mtmapprune
22:59 sofar just cut it down to a region you want
23:00 Sokomine maybe...ah yes. got an idea. catch a youtube video creator and let that one download the map and post a video about flying over it. at low resolution it'll still be smaller than the map
23:00 Sokomine would have to download it first. no fun with my connection
23:00 sofar it may be cool to run this in farmap
23:00 sofar I should try it
23:01 Sokomine farmap?
23:03 sofar I've done videos on farmap, check out my youtube
23:07 sofar ugh, branches no longer compile
23:07 tumeninodes of course I'd spawn in a freaken swamp/jungle
23:11 sofar no other coords? rubenwardy just wants to build his own house in Bristol I guess :)
23:12 tumeninodes wait... I literally just spawned in... gazing at all this awesomeness... Im so excited I gotta pee
23:13 tumeninodes I don;t even know where the hell I am... could be Africa, south america, australia or... florida : / (blechk)

23:17 tumeninodes haha, I added "kongo-ish" to my bookmark in compassGPS :P
23:17 sofar try -6822,1,3797
23:17 tumeninodes this really is so awesome sofar... thank you so much
23:17 tumeninodes ok headin there now

23:19 tumeninodes nah ah... where's all the building then?
23:19 tumeninodes where's Trump?!
23:20 sofar there's no mobs
23:20 sofar you can find pumpkins though
23:20 tumeninodes cool I like pumpkins..., they know when to keep their holes shut :D
23:21 sofar there's also ores and mineshafts
23:22 Fixer sofar: when you seem minecraft bedrock rendering at 1000, farmap hacks feels silly
23:22 Fixer see*
23:25 tumeninodes this photo will be worth big $$$$ one day https://imgur.com/a/Ecrj6

23:39 sofar maybe, something like -6570,2,3918 ?
23:40 sofar for boston?
23:43 IhrFussel Anyone a clue what could cause this now? I have this problem since days now and it only happens when I look at nodes from certain perspectives http://94.16.121.151/glitching.mp4
23:47 sofar corrupt graphics card memory?
23:47 IhrFussel sofar, why would it only happen from certain perspectives then? I read online that it should happen randomly and pretty much in every situation
23:48 Fixer IhrFussel: nice
23:48 IhrFussel If it was the graphics chip*
23:48 Fixer sofar: does not look like it, I had both gpu and vram errors on my preprevious card, they look differently
