<greenxenith> Were there changes to password handling on the client for 5.9.0? There seems to be an increase in players not being able to log in to servers (which are not on 5.9). Resetting the passwords seems to fix it. |

<greenxenith> So far ive found https://github.com/minetest/minetest/commit/432988a4ad37a20d7633e83fe8a5580c0885f5ad which altered some password stuff, nothing incriminating that I see but it does have a comment "We just set SRP encrypted password, we accept only it now" implying something changed at some point? |

greenxenith: at least it's that way for me. i don't know if others have the issue as well. now on three servers - last login matched my data, so no abuse of my password. but no login possible until my password was reset. three diffrent servers, running diffrent versions of mt |

got a mixture of "connection timed out" (most of the time) and later "incorrect password" even though i double-, triple- and more checked the password |
