Let's close this fast: any chance to provide iOS build/support in the foreseeable future? #13084 |

what on earth are they talking about |

I assume it's still a no. MultiCraft has a different license so that wouldn't be possible to upstream unless we also relicense, and I assume no coredev has a mac and iphone at hand to do the development on |
12:44 |
Zughy[m] |
same, but I need a core dev saying no to close it :P |
12:44 |

An iOS app is more likely now that Apple is being forced to allow sideloading and alt apps stores |
12:45 |
rubenwardy |
Needs someone to do it |
12:45 |
Zughy[m] |
considering the quality of the Android app, I don't think it's wise to also dive into iOS |
12:46 |
sfan5 |
the technical part is not so much a problem but ^ |

rubenwardy |
Yeah |
12:47 |
Zughy[m] |
closing then, thanks |
12:48 |
celeron55 |
an iOS port will happen as soon as there's a contributor with the time and experience to do it. those seem to be few and far between |

iOS is even more of a "only in exchange for money" thing than android |

NVM about 13089 (the one by Zweihorn), that was an accident, I meant #13087 |

there's #13085 too |

19:50 |
Zughy[m] |
actually, they've already opened 5 issues |
19:53 |

close upcoming no-value issues right away |
19:54 |

with the open ones they should understand that issues need to meet a higher standard |

ah brilliant, they're going over to the MTG repo now https://github.com/minetest/minetest_game/issues/3006 |

<MisterE> Is there a good reason that hud text scale only accepts integer scale increments? It is extremely limiting. |
20:03 |
Krock |
No, that appears to be a mistake |
20:03 |
Krock |
HUD and formspec scaling should be floating point |
20:08 |
MTDiscord |
<MisterE> Its not. |
20:08 |

font sizes are integers though so usually there's nothing gained by having scale be float |
20:44 |
Desour |
^ but default font size is not 1. it's rather something like 9. and if you want to have font size 10, you'd need to find an integer scaling s, such that 9*s=10, which is infeasible |
20:45 |

oh, right |

<MisterE> Default font size in minetest is about 10pt. Because of the floored scaling, the api will only let you have hud text scaled to multiples of 10pt. So the smallest is 10 pt, next possible size is 20 pt, etc. |

as once promised I eventually got around to working on this: #13092 |
