01:10 MTDiscord <exe_virus> I've been thinking about adding support for modern 3d file formats, such as gltf or collada or something, but I think it might be a lost cause, just because of the lack of complexity we can support. We only support UV's, armature animations, and texture-based materials, and don't support any roughness or metallic channels and whatnot, so the only benefit is that by default people could export directly to say gltf and not have to deal
01:10 MTDiscord with .b3d (and b3d's limitations therein)
01:12 MTDiscord <GreenXenith> Not having to deal with b3d or x is a huge benefit
01:12 MTDiscord <GreenXenith> Especially because gltf and collada can be imported easily, unlike b3d/x
01:15 MTDiscord <Benrob0329> ^
01:17 MTDiscord <exe_virus> Well that's true, didn't think about import. Okay maybe I'll take a stab at it later in the pipeline.   The biggest hurdle will be getting it, and a json reader into irrlichtMT, since it's a Jason format
01:20 MTDiscord <Benrob0329> I mean, MT already uses one, so I can't imagine it'd be that bad
01:30 MTDiscord <Jonathon> in minetest, not irrlicht

01:45 MTDiscord <exe_virus> right, i'd just have to bring that same one into irrlicht, anyways, I'm thinking now about texture mapping. Does .b3d support multiple texture files, and if so, how is that done in blender? multiple materials?
01:46 MTDiscord <GreenXenith> Yes and yes
01:53 MTDiscord <exe_virus> cool, okay then it should be a sinch to support gltf textures the same way
01:53 MTDiscord <exe_virus> maybe this isn't impossible ?
01:53 MTDiscord <exe_virus> But i'm still fresh when it comes to animation data so it'll be an adventure later

12:00 Pexin ok so. about maybe a week ago I started having problems with MT client timing out immediately when joining a game. I thought it was a router issue. turns out it doesn't happen with 5.1.1
12:00 Pexin am currently compiling 5.4.1 to make sure, but it looks like something was introduced sometime in the past month that does network things differently and doesn't cooperate with a repeater bridge
12:01 Pexin still works fine when connected to the primary router
12:01 Pexin and 5.1.1 works fine either way
12:02 erlehmann Pexin think of git bisect to figure out what it may have been
12:03 Pexin currently verifying server versions of games I've tested with
12:04 Pexin servers were 5.4.0 and 5.4.1
12:06 Pexin right now I've been up all night banging my head on this so ima sleep

17:42 Wuzzy and an actually bright night is already possible via other means

18:21 jonadab I just play on an "Eternal Morning" / tidally locked world.
18:21 jonadab Darkness can be achieved by building underground or indoors.
18:22 jonadab Set-respawn-point is a UI button; and the node definitions and crafts for beds are commented out.
18:24 Pexin ok so the timeout issue I was having for the past week only on 5.5dev through a repeater bridge... currently cleared itself up. I expect it to come back, but I now officially completely don't know what's going on. so, nevermind for now I GUESS..
18:26 jonadab What does the bridge do that a normal network switch doesn't?
18:26 jonadab Or vice versa?
18:26 Pexin I don't know
18:26 Pexin the repeater config itself hasn't changed in 2 years
18:27 Pexin I did put a new base router in, but the problem didn't happen when i tested 5.1.1, only 5.5dev. I was GOING to test with 5.4.1 but it's not even happening now, it has happened consistently for the past week.
18:28 jonadab Hmm, yeah, intermittent problems are hard to diagnose sometimes.
18:28 Pexin connecting through the new base router was fine no matter what
