the inventory key should be binded to [Tab] by default like in Skyrim |
17:52 |
kilbith |
we should never move the left hand away from WASD to press this key |
17:52 |
kilbith |
whoever set it to [I] is stupid |
18:12 |
MTDiscord |
<Flamore> That's rude, but i think that E could be a better choice than tab. |
18:13 |
Krock |
(I)nventory. Why not two keys? |
18:15 |
MTDiscord |
<Flamore> Sounds pretty pointless |
18:15 |
MTDiscord |
<Flamore> Still, it's up to the user. There's key configuration for a reason. |
18:15 |
kilbith |
[E] is special action already |
18:16 |
kilbith |
btw I've been trying the most popular subgames on CDB and I realized that none of them but MTG are offering a good base for modding |
18:16 |
kilbith |
they all suck unanimously (MCL2 to lesser degree) and their common denominators are absolutely terrible sounds and poor gameplay decisions |
18:17 |
kilbith |
in light of all this, I preconize that MTG is forked off by a team of established developers |
18:17 |
kilbith |
and by etablished developers I mean: no snotty teenagers, no FLOSS aficionado who has no idea what actually works in the gaming industry; ideally people who made *mainstream* mods AND are/were professional developers |

<appguru> i feel offended |

from all that flame I do agree that [Tab] is a better choice, using [I] for inventory is much like using [L] for left and [R] for right |
18:42 |
numzero |
on MTG, kilbith, do you mean Multicraft? I was told your work there now |
18:42 |
Krock |
where R on QWERTY keyboards is ironically on the left and L on the right |
18:43 |
Zughy[m]1 |
When I played Minecraft, I used to have the inventory on Maiusc, sneak on Ctrl and, well, Tab was the key to see online players. MT could implement it too, doing /status every time is not handy at all |
18:43 |
kilbith |
numzero, no I don't but you do, right? |
18:43 |
kilbith |
I meant MineClone2 |
18:45 |
kilbith |
I was surprised how seemingly smart people can actually make sucky games... |
18:46 |

having the brain power is a thing, having a vision is another |
18:46 |
numzero |
making a good game is hard |
18:47 |
Zughy[m]1 |
A videogame is a mix of different arts and skills: planning, coding, music, story (sometimes), graphic. It's way harder than writing a book |
18:48 |
Zughy[m]1 |
that's why even with tons of free game assets a lot of people can't make a great videogame: they have to learn how to combine them, how to create a harmony and convey what they want to. That's very very hard |
18:51 |
kilbith |
so far the only decent games I've seen were: CTF, ITB, VoXus and MiBi. Common denominator? All made by professional developers. |
18:59 |
numzero |
kilbith: so what is the team that forked MTG? |
18:59 |
kilbith |
none |
19:00 |
MTDiscord |
<appguru> lol |
19:00 |
kilbith |
but ideally I'd embark hecks and SorceryKid with me to form a dream team developers |
19:01 |
MTDiscord |
<appguru> SK is probably interested (isn't JT based on MTG?), but hecks most likely wants to focus on MiBi... |

um... what you said earlier sounds like that happened already |

forming a dream team from very opinionated people is a weird idea |

opinoneted people working together? might be a challenge indeed, although if they decide to run in the same direction, sigh, that would be nice, if not a dream |
