01:34 spillz minetest --version
01:34 spillz Minetest 0.4.9-dev
01:34 spillz Using Irrlicht 1.8.0
01:34 spillz Build info: VER=0.4.9-dev BUILD_TYPE=Release RUN_IN_PLACE=0 USE_GETTEXT=0 USE_SOUND=1 USE_CURL=1 USE_FREETYPE=1 USE_LUAJIT=1 STATIC_SHAREDIR=/usr/share/minetest
01:34 spillz That's from my PPA: https://code.launchpad.net/~damien-moore/+archive/minetest
01:35 spillz So it looks like the recipe works with luajit, leveldb and freetype enabled
01:36 spillz packaging repo is here: https://code.launchpad.net/~damien-moore/+junk/mt-packaging
01:36 spillz So do you guys want to enable the extra stuff for stable or just for the daily build?
01:42 PilzAdam gettext would be cool
01:43 iqualfragile_ luajit would be nescesary in my opinion
01:43 iqualfragile_ its more or less impossible to run animals_modpack without it
01:44 iqualfragile_ and just in general: why not enable it, it speeds up everything^^
01:44 PilzAdam iqualfragile_, "USE_LUAJIT=1"
01:44 iqualfragile_ ?
01:45 PilzAdam oh, I missread his question
01:46 iqualfragile_ oh, nice jessie has luajit
01:46 iqualfragile_ meaning it would be kinda possible to use luajit as default and make it a dependency
01:46 iqualfragile_ (wait, does it work on windows?)
01:47 spillz Why not enable? does it make the game more unstable
01:47 spillz this is just ubuntu, dude
01:47 iqualfragile_ i know
01:48 iqualfragile_ i had zero luajit related crashes on my server so far
01:48 cheapie_ joined #minetest-dev
01:49 iqualfragile_ so i guess it does not affect stabilty
01:49 domtron joined #minetest-dev
01:50 ShadowNinja LuaJIT didn't report some errors well, but I've fixed that, and I think that's the only issue I've seen.
01:50 Taoki joined #minetest-dev
01:50 spillz So long as noone objects, I'll enable for both daily and stable ubuntu PPA builds
01:50 domtron joined #minetest-dev
01:51 iqualfragile_ well, there are some issues with disappearing animals or strange incedents with mesecons but i think thats due to the respective mods
01:51 spillz I think I've had those sorts of issues with regular lua. I blame the mods
01:52 domtron joined #minetest-dev
01:53 spillz Anyway, I won't do this today. Maybe in a couple of days time. I still don't quite understand the debian version numbering scheme and want to make sure I pick a recipe package name that works well for as long as possible.

12:58 spillz On older Ubuntu's,  e.g. 12.04, package won't build with leveldb because the version is too old. I guess I can add a separate recipe, though with 14.04 nearly here it's probably not needed at all. 10.04 doesn't even start building because of unmet deps.

13:25 celeron55 good thing the new LTS is coming next month
13:26 celeron55 it's annoying how fast things get outdated, 12.04 is just two years old but it's like ancient already

18:02 celeron55 random note: mingw32 is at gcc version 4.4 so that also hold us back in the old c++ standard in addition to visual studio 2010
18:02 celeron55 holds*
18:03 celeron55 this is actually quite important and was previously missed completely
18:03 sapier true
18:12 sapier celeron55 my mingw32 is 4.8? do you have outdated version?
18:12 celeron55 it seems mingw-w64 is more recent
18:13 celeron55 but is it available for linux cross-compilation?
18:13 sapier I've got 32 bit version
18:13 sapier well I've got native mingw
18:13 sapier didn't spend time by now to get windows 64 bit version ready as there ain't a 64 bit toolchain anyway
18:14 celeron55 hmm it looks like it *is* more up-to-date
18:14 celeron55 it was just so hard to find using google
18:15 celeron55 i can get mingw32-gcc-c++-4.8.2 from my distro repos so i think this isn't an issue after all
18:15 sapier I don't understand mingw's versioning scheme at all it's hard to find out what exactly is latest
18:15 sapier 4.8.2? ok then mine is outdated I've got 4.8.1 :-)
18:16 celeron55 sfan5: take note ^
18:17 sfan5 sapier: which distro do you have?
18:17 sfan5 I think I may just compile mingw myself
18:17 sapier as I said I used native mingw in windows
18:17 sapier on
18:21 celeron55 i have fedora 20
18:23 sfan5 I have Xubuntu 13.10

23:01 john_minetest Hey, so does the pathfinding API work at all or doesn't it?
23:03 celeron55 it does unless you prove otherwise
23:04 john_minetest rubenwardy mentioned that it didn't work some time ago.
23:04 john_minetest ok
23:23 celeron55 https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/1151
23:23 celeron55 but this should probably be tested and merged
