I want to remove one node and replace it with another, but keep the previous node's param2 data. Is there some way to do that? I suspect preserve_metadata is useful but the API guide doesn't give and example of how it works,. |

it *says* it does not, but in my game I have a node that faces the player when placed, and it swaps out when a timer has expired, but the new node always defaults to facing south because it can't rely on the 'facedir' default any more because it was not placed by a player |
