IRC exposes user IP addresses by default (it's historically been used for stuff like direct file transfers and such). If you want to disable that, you can get a "cloak" on the Libera network. |

You have to be registered with nickserv, and join #libera-cloak, as it says in the #libera topic. I think there's a bot there that automatically cloaks you, then kicks you once you're cloaked. |

If you want that cloak to be "bulletproof" and not leak your info after you reconnect but before you identify with nickserv, make sure you're using SASL or CertFP to identify. |
