can i upload MIT software on notabug? it says it must be compatible with the FSF |
00:00 |
p_gimeno |
(waited until 5.0.1, enough to ensure that the PRs I was responsible for were in good shape) |
00:02 |
p_gimeno |
the Free Software definition covers lots of licenses. "Roughly, it means that the users have the freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software" |
00:02 |
p_gimeno |
including MIT of course |
00:04 |
Lone-Star |
notabug looks very close to github |
00:04 |
p_gimeno |
gogs does (by design) |
00:05 |
kurtzmusch |
bonus points if i can use a website without JS |
00:08 |
p_gimeno |
mesehub is another gogs instance btw |
00:09 |
p_gimeno |
well, a gitea instance (gitea is based on gogs) |
00:10 |
p_gimeno |
I didn't find any TOS there though and that's not a good sign for me |

if my mod has either dependency or optional dependency on mtg, how am i suposed to deal with licensing? |
00:29 |
Lone-Star |
i just use MIT on my mods |
00:29 |
p_gimeno |
kurtzmusch: if you are not distributing any part of mtg, you don't have any licensing to deal with |
00:32 |
kurtzmusch |
ok, thanks |
00:36 |
p_gimeno |
fortunately I don't think there are many GPL mods, these would need you to take actions |

Calinou: I think the best way would be to just pass-through the texture rotation flag, so each mod that registers with the table saw can set it, or not. |
21:17 |
VanessaE |
and for default materials...hmm.. rotate or not depending on the appearance of the material. plain wood, I'd let it rotate with the node. wood tiles, stone, stone tiles, etc? keep them fixed to the world. |
21:18 |
VanessaE |
i.e. if it has an obvious grain like wood that would make sense to rotate, do so. but something that has dividing lines, grooves, chiseled appearance, might be appropriate to keep it fixed to the world. |

21:26 |

the short version: the engine uses some or all of param2 for hardware colorization info in a way similar to GIF (indexed colors). unified dyes provides a set of palettes a good API for dealing with it. |
