jeez! What IS it with some people? this guy asking people a dozen ways from Sunday to do stuff on my server but ignoring me when I tell him to post his request for interact on the forum thread. |
01:24 |
Naked |
ignore him them |
01:24 |
khonkhortisan |
I finally found a way to label my buttons http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=ea1fef9 |
01:29 |
VanessaE |
well he eventually did ask on the forums but didn't bother to *tell* me he asked. |
01:29 |
VanessaE |
(I use the forum thread to help keep track of things) |
01:30 |
VanessaE |
interesting trick, khonkhortisan |
01:43 |
khonkhortisan |
I'd like to make a mesecon-powered chessboard, but I don't think I could create a horizontal display |
01:46 |
khonkhortisan |
hmm, wall luaControllers would be possible with the 6d facedir |
01:47 |
VanessaE |
mesecons can already be ran along walls now, by way of the screwdriver, and neat thing is, they actually update properly |
01:47 |
VanessaE |
but there are no autorouting/autoplace rules to handle it |
01:48 |
khonkhortisan |
so... |
01:48 |
* khonkhortisan |
goes to try it |
01:50 |
khonkhortisan |
:( the luaC won't turn |
01:51 |
VanessaE |
try using the screwdriver in mode 3 |
01:51 |
ShadowNinja |
Facedir for luacs/micros would be nice. |
01:52 |
VanessaE |
that would help. |
01:52 |
khonkhortisan |
I have a switch next to mese below a rotated insulated mesecon (mode 3 then mode 1) below mese. The signal doesn't transfer vertically. |
01:52 |
khonkhortisan |
Rotations are blocked with luacontrollers |
01:53 |
Kacey |
i think there should be a morwires mod that adds some cool stuff to mesecons like wall wires and other machines |
01:53 |
khonkhortisan |
I think we had a morewires directory |
01:53 |
khonkhortisan |
oh I'm thinking of mesecons_extrawires |

ShadowNinja |
You didn't finish your big building on my server. :-( |
02:22 |
LionsDen |
I was wondering how to use the water turbine. I set it up but as soon as I connect the wires it turns red. |
02:22 |
sokomine |
i'm a bit astonished about the celeron (not celeron55, but the processor). it seems to remain really nicely cold |
02:22 |
khonkhortisan |
VanessaE, what do you mean by update properly? |
02:22 |
sokomine |
shaddowninja: i havn't forgotten about that building. i'm just not sure how i'll finish it :-( |
02:23 |
sokomine |
it is a lot bigger than the other buildings i've constructed. the last one was a very tiny house on vanessas server |
02:23 |
* ShadowNinja |
isn't a very good builder. |
02:23 |
sokomine |
need to get an idea how to complete it first |
02:23 |
* khonkhortisan |
either |
02:24 |
* ShadowNinja |
builds things as small as he can with luacs and mesecons. |
02:27 |
sokomine |
i do so with houses. the smaller the more i like them :-) |
02:36 |
LionsDen |
Does anyone know how to use the water turbines from technic? |
02:39 |
sokomine |
er, yes. at least an old version of them. keep them sourrounded by floating water an all four sides. you can keep bottom and top for connecting them |
02:40 |
LionsDen |
Ok, it's just that every time I connect the wires they turn red on me. |
02:41 |
ShadowNinja |
Turn red? New feature? |
02:41 |
LionsDen |
They are red and grey in color when first made, |
02:42 |
LionsDen |
when in water, they turn green and grey, |
02:42 |
LionsDen |
mine keep turning back to red on me when I connect the wires. |
02:42 |
LionsDen |
I am assuming that means they aren't working. |
02:43 |
sokomine |
perhaps you use the wrong wires? newer versions seem to have different voltages |
02:43 |
VanessaE |
khonkhortisan: in simpler circuits, the wires will turn on/off properly without screwing up their facedir/rotation |
02:43 |
VanessaE |
bbiab. |
02:44 |
LionsDen |
Maybe they need the MV wires then. |
02:44 |
sokomine |
yes, iirc they use mv wires. they at least used to be orange |
02:45 |

As soon as I connect the regular cable or the MV cable, the generators turn red. |
02:58 |
LionsDen |
Plus, the cables wont connect to the bottom. Only the top. |
02:59 |
LionsDen |
I'm wondering if maybe an update broke something if you were once able to connect cables to the bottom. |
02:59 |
ShadowNinja |
LionsDen: Pure red? Sounds like a bug. |
03:00 |
LionsDen |
Well, red and grey like they look when out of the water. I put them in the water and the become green and grey. I connect any cable and they turn red and grey again. |
03:00 |
LionsDen |
The water won't flow with the cables, they block the water. |
03:00 |

So, any thoughts on why the mesh texture isn't showing with the daily build? |

An UV problem... |
15:46 |

Maybe related to some recent commit about multiple textures. |

well your top texture (upper left corner of the file) is not used at all. your bottom texture is used for the top side of the cart but is scaled down to just fit the bottom-inside of the block, and also size weirdly to fit the edges, |

hey bas080 |
23:11 |

yes. it does work quite well when actually rolling a player back |
23:11 |
sokomine |
it's the checking that's intolerably slow |
23:11 |
sokomine |
and checking is required quite often. not each missing block might justify a rollback/ban |
23:12 |
sokomine |
furthermore, the current method of checking does stop if someone else acted there |

Just like changing a line in code directs the blame at you for the line previously malfunctioning |

ah :-) perhaps that's why people are leaving. we ought to fix github then so that its blame function becomes more friendly :-) |
23:16 |

my current idea is to write a mini-mod that gathers the coordinates from punching (like rollback_check does) and passes them on to grep (most likely that's faster than parsing via lua). security-wise that wouldn't be such a good idea i'm afraid :-( |
