yeah but dont tell that to my friend that wants to be a YA Romance writter. Young Adult |
00:00 |
mauvebic |
frak this, frak that, or mix BSG and Lord of War and you get "frak you you frakking frak!" lol |
00:00 |
NakedFury |
ohh frak. the most awesome invented swear word ever |
00:00 |
mauvebic |
YA Romance writter == sex offender in most people's minds lol |
00:01 |
NakedFury |
shes a girl. ALL she reads is young adult female protagonist stories that have Romance first then whatever the crap comes second |
00:02 |
mauvebic |
though i was kidding, how does being a girl negate the possibility of being a sex offender? lol |
00:02 |
NakedFury |
maybe it doesnt. she also has a cat. so she tells me she fits the profile of the old cat lady already |
00:02 |
mauvebic |
so do i |
00:03 |
NakedFury |
ill fit the profile of the weird old dog guy with badly kept lawn |
00:03 |
mauvebic |
i have nicely kept gravel lol |
00:03 |
mauvebic |
city's giving away free trees, think ill plant one lol |
00:04 |
NakedFury |
wow free trees. you have to pay for trees |
00:04 |
mauvebic |
well at the home depot type stores yeah, and theyre not always cheap |
00:04 |
mauvebic |
otherwise you can go into the forest and grab one there, though i dont think its legal depending who owns the land |
00:05 |
mauvebic |
besides, its pot-growing season, people lay traps, you dont go fucking around in the woods lol |
00:05 |
NakedFury |
ohh I have seen the show following potheads and their farms |
00:06 |
NakedFury |
fucking weird how they can do that and not tell the police |
00:06 |
mauvebic |
the reason we can't have decent affordable housing is because of illegal indoor grow ups ruining the place |
00:06 |
mauvebic |
the police can't keep up lol |
00:07 |
mauvebic |
yo, i hear up to 90% of what is grown in quebec goes stateside, the remaining 10% is enough for the entire cdn east coast lol |
00:07 |
NakedFury |
in a few years we will have cross the line and have a real life show following around a serial killer |
00:07 |
mauvebic |
well, they already broadcast wars and terrorist hunts on live tv, so dunno what youre missing |
00:08 |
NakedFury |
yeah and all protected with the amendments. |

00:22 |

yeah well hannibal always got a kick out of helping the cops just enough to not quite get there in time lol |

Lua sure is weird, I just found you can do arithmetic with strings O.o |

mauvebic |
of course lol |
00:31 |
NakedFury |
wow this show is levels above other typical cop shows |
00:32 |
mauvebic |
well its not really a cop show, its more a psych/serialkiller/cannibal show |
00:33 |

he is very calm about the situation. I like it |

NakedFury |
I hate myself but I see me watching this next saturday or sunday |

the movies |
00:34 |
mauvebic |
well he's very methodical lol |
00:35 |

I was talking about the part with the killers wife on the front porch with her throat cut and a pool of blood. Will is histerical and trembling but Hannibal is all " im good this is a sunny day, look ice cream" |
00:36 |
mauvebic |
well he's nuts so yeah he gets a kick out of it lol |
00:37 |

A nice lua-side feature would be the ability to draw basic shapes using points of the map. Useful for making strings, ropes, flailing flags, or anything you could think of. |

my policy regarding to that is to leave such to be handled by those who speak a different language |
09:01 |
celeron55 |
if there are enough, there will be someone who has the resources to make a forum |
09:05 |
iqualfragile |
well… a subforum would have the advantage that peoplet would not need to reregister |
09:05 |

but such an subforum will only take from, not give to the people who don't speak german |
09:06 |

start adding in whole forums... exactly, what he said. |
09:07 |
celeron55 |
by forcing most of the german people to talk english on the forum, we make their stuff available to anyone who speaks the current world language (english) |
09:07 |

09:19 |
VanessaE |
let someone else run an unofficial German et.al forum then |
09:20 |

people who are not really good at reading english will have problems reading answers in english and there might be some "local" servers who want to have german speaking players (Austria, Switzerland, Germany) |

11:05 |
VanessaE |
nodenames = {"group:flora"} |
11:05 |
VanessaE |

11:05 |
[0gb_us] |
Something wrong with that? |
11:05 |
VanessaE |
this screws up everything |
11:05 |
[0gb_us] |
Why is that? |
11:06 |
[0gb_us] |
Flora is a new group, it shouldn't interfere with anything |
11:06 |
VanessaE |
because it uses the same match key for spawning plants as is used for *avoiding* them |
11:06 |
[0gb_us] |
I see. |
11:06 |
VanessaE |
which means that everything to be avoided has to be spawned by this abmn |
11:06 |
VanessaE |
abm* |
11:06 |
VanessaE |
which in turn means I can't assign different perlin zones to different plants |
11:06 |
[0gb_us] |
I didn't code the avoidance part. |
11:06 |
[0gb_us] |
PilzAdam must have added that. |

if I put my extra flowers in group:flora, they'll be properly avoided but they will also be spawned by this ABM, which I definitely DO NOT want. |
11:07 |
[0gb_us] |
Why do they need to be avoided? |
11:07 |
VanessaE |
because I don't, for example, want poison ivy to spawn near a flowerbed. |

11:09 |
[0gb_us] |
I see ... |
11:09 |
[0gb_us] |
Maybe the avoidance should be in poison ivy? So poison ivy can't creep into fower beds, but flowers can creep into ivy beds. |
11:11 |
[0gb_us] |
Hmm. I'm thinking we'll never finish if we hand weed these .... |
11:11 |
VanessaE |
there. |
11:11 |
VanessaE |
removed poison ivy nodes from flora group, pushed to plantlife git. |
11:11 |
|
proller joined #minetest |
11:12 |
VanessaE |
but see, now growable flowers won't avoid poison ivy areas, so the density will creep up way too high there. |
11:12 |
[0gb_us] |
Hmm. I'm not sure what to do about that. |
11:12 |
VanessaE |
the correct solution is to add another match key to the find_nodes_in_area() call at line 145, say "group:flora_avoid" or some such |
11:13 |
VanessaE |
local flowers = minetest.env:find_nodes_in_area(pos0, pos1, {"group:flora", "group:flora_avoid"}) |
11:13 |
[0gb_us] |
Another issue with hand weeding these is that due to item_drop, it leaves entities everywhere ..... |
11:13 |
VanessaE |
or some such thing; I believe that call can accept a table for the match keys |
11:15 |
[0gb_us] |
Then the ABM is called on flora_avoid too, turning flora_avoid into a plant spawner. |
11:15 |
VanessaE |
nonono |
11:15 |
VanessaE |
not in the abm match key. |
11:15 |
[0gb_us] |
Which is the opposite of the intended effect. |
11:15 |
[0gb_us] |
OH! Got it. |
11:15 |
VanessaE |
but in the find_nodes_in_area() call |
11:15 |
VanessaE |
which is how he's controlling for density |
11:16 |
[0gb_us] |
I see. Okay. |
11:16 |
VanessaE |
and it says in the API that it *does* take a table |
11:16 |
VanessaE |
so change line 145 to read: |
11:16 |
VanessaE |
local flowers = minetest.env:find_nodes_in_area(pos0, pos1, {"group:flora", "group:flora_avoid"}) |
11:16 |
[0gb_us] |
Yeah, it does. I pass it tables too. |
11:17 |
VanessaE |
and then add to the flora_avoid group anything that this routine should avoid that isn't also spawned by it. |
11:17 |
[0gb_us] |
Okay, that sounds like a good compromise. |
11:17 |
VanessaE |
which would only be a few nodes in my mods - the defaults wouldn't need changed. |

Use ssh or a client, you can still PM and there isn't realy a better way to block the spam, however my bot can kick for spaming, better than a quiet but some spam will get through before it activates |

Also, I have been having an issue with the death drops in your item_drop mod(or rather technics copy of it) pos.y = pos.y+1 seems to set it about ten nodes up, also the items can drop on the player and he can pick them back up, did you fix that? 16:32 |

the lava thing is completly different |
16:32 |
[0gb_us] |
Saying the game maker should make the choice, not the user. The fire has the same concept. |
16:33 |
[0gb_us] |
Lava is not different. |
16:33 |
PilzAdam |
fire acutally can cause massive damage |
16:33 |
PilzAdam |
now the admin can just do /set disable_fire true |
16:33 |
[0gb_us] |
Yes, and if that damage is part of the game, it's part of the game. |
16:34 |
[0gb_us] |
And an admin should ba able to set lava to renew. |
16:35 |
[0gb_us] |
Also, the client should be able to set the camera to not jerk when the player is damaged. Settings are good. |

i have an GeForce 9600 GT and since yesterday im using nouveau and it works great, the only things i had to do was recompiling the kernel (i needet to use the 3.9 because there were some changes) and changing the fan management mode to automatic which i acomplish by using pm utils |

it depends on the part of the mod you're talking about |
