08:37 |

But it does look good xD |
08:38 |

Anyway, its only my secondary OS, only stuff that really won't work on linux are there |
08:38 |
Raven262 |
Only games actually |
08:39 |
Raven262 |
Some of them, Wine makes most of them work in linux |
08:39 |
Raven262 |
For the cost of some performance though |
08:40 |
tenplus1 |
most of my clients get so annoyed at windows 10 they specifically ask me to remove it and put on something better... Xubuntu is 1st choice |
08:41 |
Raven262 |
Yes, windows itself is annoying |
08:42 |
Raven262 |
Something crashes and it doesn't tell me why |
08:42 |
Raven262 |
In linux i can just look at the command line output |

I've seen that on Linux way more often than on Windows |
08:42 |

Yes you can create monsters with it...but they will have no animation of course (unless you edit it after with blender, but not sure if that's possible) |
10:39 |

was entirely static |

Calinou |
"error: RPC failed; curl 56 SSL read: error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0), errno 104" |
12:18 |
nerzhul |
gitlab side, SSL error while cloning the repository |
12:18 |
Calinou |
performed a retry, it's failing due to this now, https://gitlab.com/Calinou/godot/-/jobs/18996799 |
12:18 |
Calinou |
I have no idea why, I now marked the binary as a 2-hour artifact |
12:18 |
Calinou |
https://gitlab.com/Calinou/godot/blob/gitlab-ci/.gitlab-ci.yml |
12:18 |
nerzhul |
the problem is the git clone on the repository |
12:18 |
Calinou |
yeah, it shouldn't be git cloning for the package step... |
12:18 |
Calinou |
no idea how to prevent that |
12:19 |
nerzhul |
it's normal in a repository |
12:19 |
nerzhul |
you always clone the repo where you work |
12:19 |
nerzhul |
i seems gitlab.com has failed to clone your repo |

the artifacts of the build works, but the package step fails |
12:20 |
nerzhul |
did you add dependency ? |
12:21 |

package job should depend on build |
12:21 |

else artifact coordinator doesn't download them |

Calinou: what do you think of Gitlab? |
14:13 |
Calinou |
benrob0329: it has lots of cool features, but the site is still slow |
14:13 |
Calinou |
here I'm using GitLab just for its CI service, so I mirror the Godot repository to it |
14:13 |
benrob0329 |
Ah, so underpowered |
14:13 |
Calinou |
then I tell GitLab CI to build and package it |
14:14 |
benrob0329 |
Could be interesting if modders start to move to it |
14:16 |
Calinou |
modders don't need it |
14:16 |
Calinou |
anyway, https://github.com/Calinou/godot/releases |
14:16 |
Calinou |
I got AppVeyor working at least |
14:16 |
Calinou |
this thing is also a CI service, but unlike the other ones, it runs on Windows and not Linux |
14:16 |
Calinou |
which allows you to use MSVC and other Windows-only tools |
14:17 |
Calinou |
I also got it to automatically upload the build result to GitHub Releases |

hi ssieb |
18:44 |
ssieb |
hi |
18:50 |
Raven262 |
Interesting, its been 45 minutes since i started compiling this kernel and it is still compiling |
18:50 |
ssieb |
yes, depending on the computer, it can take a really long time |
18:50 |
tenplus1 |
I've heard a few say they did it in under 25 |
18:51 |
Raven262 |
I used -j8 |
18:51 |
ssieb |
you have that many cores? |
18:52 |
Raven262 |
well i have amdA8 processor, should have 4 i think |
18:52 |
tenplus1 |
nice |
18:52 |
ssieb |
so -j8 might actually slow it down somewhat |
18:53 |
Raven262 |
lol |
18:53 |
Raven262 |
really? i always used j8 |
18:53 |
ssieb |
generally numCores+1 is what you should use if that's the only thing you're doing on the computer |
18:53 |
tenplus1 |
why +1 |
18:54 |
ssieb |
keeps something available if one of the processes if busy doing I/O |
18:54 |
tenplus1 |
ohhh |
18:58 |
Raven262 |
So any guesses on how long could this compiling take on my processor? |

calcul0n |
hi again :) |
19:04 |
ssieb |
Raven262: lot of factors. I didn't actually time how long it took to compile it on a dual-core system, but it was hours. :-) |
19:04 |
Raven262 |
lol |
19:04 |
Raven262 |

finally |
19:15 |
kaeza |
did it take too long? |
19:15 |
ssieb |
but was it successful? :-P |
19:17 |
Raven262 |
I think it was |
19:17 |
Raven262 |
yea it took some hour and 15 minutes |
19:17 |
kaeza |
O.o |
19:17 |
Raven262 |
now i only have to install it somehow |

Raven262 |
Yes that was my idea exactly |
20:49 |
Raven262 |
But the only way to dismantle it was to break it |
20:56 |
shivajiva |
choose a face, make it all one colour, then put the middle colour match on a side face whilst holding the cube in the same axis orientation, work round the 4 sides, then rotate the corners in of the top face, edges of the middle row on all faces, middles on bottom row and then bottom corners, I did solve it but only by being shown how to rotate the pieces to where so they could be ordered without breaking the progress :) |
