the mediawiki default group that has page deletion permission is called "Administrator" and those can do almost anything |

i guess the thing is, deleting a page deletes the page's history so it's a big deal |

and, you're currently not in any group, which is the default for users |

also yeah revisions for deleted pages aren't permanently deleted unless you run the deleteArchivedRevisions.php maintenance script from the CLI, so a page can be restored later if there's an issue |
