20:04 MTDiscord <exe_virus> sfan5:  I was looking at luaJIT today and came across a flag for amalgation that will result in a faster luaJIT executable. Do you know if the windows luaJIT.exe is compiled with this flag? It's not on by default.   Also, perhaps we should out a note about it for those compiling for linux. The reason isn't not on by default is it requires 400+MB to compile when it does so.
20:11 sfan5 it is
20:14 MTDiscord <exe_virus> Cool, thanks for the quick response! Am I right this doesn't happen in linux by default?
20:14 MTDiscord <exe_virus> Or will it have no effect on minetest since we host it internally?
20:18 sfan5 on linux that depends on how your distribution built luajit
20:22 MTDiscord <exe_virus> I figure most are building from source.   As for luaJIT on windows, I don't see the .dll with the distributions for win32 win64, is it not stored inside a .dll?
20:23 sfan5 luajit is statically linked for the windows builds
20:23 MTDiscord <exe_virus> Understood, and dynamically linked for linux builds I take it?
20:24 MTDiscord <exe_virus> Does static linking affect amalgation? Would using a .dll result in faster lua for windows?
20:28 sfan5 no, those are independent
20:30 MTDiscord <exe_virus> Okay thank you, sorry for the bombardment, I was hoping we were doing it less than perfect and could get some effeciency gains:)   At least I can now update the family server to use the amalgated version of luaJIT.

21:35 Andrey01 May #10363 be merged now or does it need certainly still an one approval from some core dev?

21:50 zughy[m] #4325 and #5705 should be closed, as normal maps have been removed
