23:17 rubenwardy currently it's impossible to have a fixed new game and also keep compatibilty with MTG
23:18 rubenwardy by having default split up, it's easier to make mods depend on only what they need and thus more likely to be compatible
23:19 Shara Same thoughts. It is really not easy right now to make "a new game" unless you build from MTG, and then you mostly just get an edited MTG with extra mods tacked on.

23:27 paramat MTG core devs have the skills needed so i almost feel like saying: every dev, make a new game, big or small, be the dictator of that game and avoid official dev workflow for more speed
23:30 paramat i want to spend less time on MTG and core dev time is limited, so i feel we need to avoid non-essentials (like beds in all wool colours :))
