Quick question, hope I can get an answer here without going through the hassel of going on the dev channel: does using `base.png^[sheet:16x16:0,0' (as mentioned in the Lua API) use hardware tiling such that the GPU performs fewer texture binds? Since that is the most common reason to use tilesheets a.k.a texture atlases. Thanks! |

It's just that it seems like a fairly trivial but useful feature to have performance-wise. I can't help but notice that Minetest had a texture atlas in the past but it was removed. Bugs I think? |
