Hey guys. I had the mods (mobs_animal mobs_monster mobs_redo) I removed the folders rebooted server got a lot of unknown nodes now (to be expected) But It seems like they are still spawning.. |
01:12 |
AlabamaHit |
Does that sound possible or it is just that many left to try to kill? |
01:13 |
AlabamaHit |
And is there a faster way to remove all the unknown blocks? I tried the mod "remove_unknown" but it just crashes minetest. |

hi all, I have a semi technical modding question if anyone can help.. |
16:01 |
Nige |
i need to perform an action on all connected players every few (maybe 3-5) seconds |
16:02 |
Nige |
is it better to use a counter inside a minetest.onstep or to get the code to call itself with minetest.after ? |
16:02 |
Nige |
which one is more reliable/ less lag inducing? |
16:04 |
calcul0n |
i'd say minetest.after if you don't need exact timing |
16:05 |
Nige |
yeah, i was leaning that way, I have several mods that are already using counters in minetest.onsteps and was loathe to add another ;-) |

ThomasMonroe Alright thank you, let me see how this community views what I think are important unlike that "other" game... |
16:23 |
tm3 |
it's esp. needed when cutting of those blocks for some purpose etc. like in circular saw. you have to specify the light source of those nodes. It would be nice if there was a method to retrieve that property of that node or else the value should be zero :) |
16:23 |
ThomasMonroe |
ok |
16:24 |

tm3 its this ling of code |
16:24 |
ThomasMonroe |
minetest.get_node_light(pos) |

but it's not that it's get the light at that position in a time of day |

Hey everyone. I was trying to start a server today and noticed that the minetest-server package is not in the stable ubuntu ppa. Instead it installed 0.4.13 from the default ubuntu repos. Do I launch the server with some command line switch using the minetest binary now or something? The documentation still says minetestserver is the binary to launch. |
