here's my opinion either way: I don't mind the discord bridge and think it's overall positive for the often quite empty #minetest-hub and also for connecting the community |

personally i've been using the bridge to peek at these channels on my phone as most of the time i'm not connecting its irc client to freenode, and 75% of time the irc client isn't even running to begin with |

Something to note is there may be a way to automatically let certain Discord users speak in the read-only channel(s), since some users have expressed interest in speaking in the dev channel for questions and whatnot -- our server has automatic roles assigned based on activity in the discord, which could be used to only allow established members speak in those channels and filter out the newbies so you dont get accidental noise. |

No, it doesnt really correlate at all, but thats not the point. The idea is that the people that can speak in the channels will only do so if they have something meaningful to contribute. Otherwise, they will probably leave it alone. |
