20:18 paramat Krock see https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/8594#issuecomment-502482517 =)
20:20 Krock default dungeon node aliases were great to evade such gaps in the biome def
20:29 rubenwardy dev meeting   paramat Krock sofar nerzhul nore sfan5 ?
20:31 rubenwardy !dev Meetings
20:31 ShadowBot Meetings - Minetest Developer Wiki -- http://dev.minetest.net/Meetings
20:32 paramat you mean now? i can
20:33 rubenwardy yeah, I'm seeing people are free now
20:33 rubenwardy are there any devs without a dev wiki account?
20:34 paramat it's well worth removing all those aliases, makes game creation easier, and i'll make a post in the forum. the default mapgen aliases would be unsuitable for many games anyway, using the biome stone is more suitable
20:34 paramat i don't have a dev wiki account and don't want one =)
20:35 rubenwardy lol
20:35 paramat the hardcoding is so horrible it has to go
20:35 rubenwardy what are you talking about?
20:35 rubenwardy #8594 ?
20:35 ShadowBot https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/8594 -- Dungeongen: Remove hardcoded dungeon nodes by paramat
20:36 rubenwardy oh, so that PR gets the nodes from the biome I guesS?
20:37 GreenDimond Doesnt look like a lot of stuff on that meeting outline; is it too late to mention stuff?
20:37 Krock sorry, not free. just had some little time left.
20:37 paramat =)
20:37 Krock GreenDimond: mention stuff whenever you want
20:37 proller joined #minetest-dev
20:38 rubenwardy ok, another time maybe
20:38 GreenDimond The implementation of wielditem/item entity drawtypes is way too limited
20:38 rubenwardy I've been the only one suggesting things
20:38 Krock the meetings used to be longer in the past, but now it would be great if some people put in their own topics as soon there's nothing more to discuss
20:40 GreenDimond There is no way to modify the textures or anything of item entities, which is really annoying.
20:40 paramat GreenDimond that's best as an issue first, then core devs might decide to discuss it at a meeting. i can't see any advantage in discussing it at a meeting rather than in an issue, we can't discuss every issue =)

20:40 GreenDimond Fair enough
20:41 paramat yes it's a good point
20:41 GreenDimond I figure adding a new key similar to mesh visual like item to specify the string might be useful, and then it populates the texture table from the item.
20:41 paramat well worth an issue
20:42 paramat maybe if 'textures' is a table then use the table of textures, otherwise use the node stated
20:42 GreenDimond Right
20:42 GreenDimond And then populate if it is using the node
20:42 GreenDimond That way you can modify them after
20:43 paramat or indeed a new key might be best
20:43 GreenDimond The problem with textures is that it has to be a table
20:43 GreenDimond (as of right now)
20:44 GreenDimond so its still textures = {"foo:bar"}
20:44 GreenDimond The other thing is, hardware colored nodes end up funny
20:44 GreenDimond so maybe the key should be a node table
20:45 GreenDimond Which then implies it should support rotation as well

20:53 GreenDimond #8604
20:53 ShadowBot https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/8604 -- Item entity visual type is too limited
20:53 paramat ugh, i can't handle thinking about hardware colouring, i think it's more trouble than it's worth =)
20:53 paramat thanks
20:54 GreenDimond lol
20:54 GreenDimond Ive been tackling it all week
20:54 GreenDimond I can finally turn a palette index into a usable color \o/
20:55 paramat rubenwardy can you review game#2349 ?
20:55 ShadowBot https://github.com/minetest/minetest_game/issues/2349 -- Add waving waterlily by t0ny2
20:57 rubenwardy done
21:01 paramat thanks
21:02 paramat i'll merge it in a few mins if you are not already doing so
21:06 rubenwardy go ahead
21:06 paramat ok
21:12 paramat merged
