09:50 schubisu        good morning everyone! I'm running a headless server that now migrated to 5.8.0. I realized that minetest no longer ships with the default game; is there a recommended way how to install games on a headless server instead via client?
09:52 ROllerozxa      I mean there are multiple ways, you could clone the git repository of your chosen game or download the latest release zip from CDB with wget and unzip it
09:55 schubisu        ROllerozxa: thanks. I can't see a switch for the minetest command to specify the location of the game, how would I do that?

09:56 ROllerozxa      there is also https://github.com/ronoaldo/minetools which is a CLI package manager of sorts for CDB that uses the API for fetching package info
10:04 schubisu        ROllerozxa: awesome, I think that's what I've been looking for. My approach was to use a client on another machine (with the same game version), install the mods I wanted and copy them over. But I'd like to manage everything on the server if possible
