21:02 MTDiscord        <AncientMariner> weird. 0.83 and 0.82 have improved singleplayer performance significantly. played local multiplayer on an older spec laptop and it was a lot better too. only thing i can think of on limited ram machines, the additional music can put extra burden on it. turning off music, and removing the audio files could help with that

23:59 Peter_Lankton    so i am thinking of making minetest maps to share with people. but most of the people i will share it with probably wont have minetest. so i could modify the main menu lua to make a custom minetest version that does nothing but auto open the map i want. then share that with people. so its like that single map is the game. they just download the map zip, extract it and go to bin/ and run minetest.exe and are in the map.
23:59 Peter_Lankton    i think that is a cool idea. i really like how customizable the main menu is. "Mintest" is a cool pun name for this minimal version of minetest lol. or maybe the main menu would just be a simple formspec with a label for the maps name and a play button to load it. any thoughts?
