Time Nick Message 00:49 blaise it's so time consuming building all my ones self 00:50 blaise I need one of those massive mining rigs 00:50 blaise I see the blade for it in the technic inventory 00:51 blaise hrmm 00:53 blaise oh wait, that's the diamond drill head for the mining drills 01:03 sameyepatch[m] activate creative mode 01:03 sameyepatch[m] the hand alone can mine anything 01:21 blaise that takes too long 01:21 blaise that's what mining lasers and drills are foor 01:21 blaise dor 01:21 blaise for 01:21 * blaise freaks out 01:23 sameyepatch[m] ah then technic is indeed the answer 01:24 sameyepatch[m] have any of you found underground structures that seem already mined by someone? 01:24 blaise go check out the subway level on midnightsystems.net:30000 01:24 blaise sameyepatch[m]: of course 01:24 blaise ruins and dungeons and all kinds of stuff 01:25 sameyepatch[m] yeah that somehow creeps me up 01:25 blaise mine tunnels with wood reinforcement to prevent cave ins and such 01:25 sameyepatch[m] even though they were randomly generated 01:25 blaise on that server I mentioned there is an elevator to the right as you enter the building next to the spawn area 01:26 blaise I admin that server, so if there is anything you need just ask 01:29 sameyepatch[m] oh great 01:29 sameyepatch[m] I was thinking on getting on a multiplayer recently 01:29 sameyepatch[m] let's see 01:30 blaise I give initial stuff to help you get started 01:30 blaise there's a store upstairs in the welcome center 01:31 blaise i haven't worked out all the perms yet with areas protect, but I'm getting there 01:32 blaise reading up on it now 01:32 blaise other servers have it where players can set area protect on their property to prevent griefers 01:33 blaise but I don't want the players to have areas admin privlege 01:34 sameyepatch[m] I'm getting in 01:34 sameyepatch[m] 😁 01:34 sameyepatch[m] it's taking its time to download the media 01:35 blaise k 01:35 sameyepatch[m] is it... is it my internet connection? :( 01:35 blaise no, it's a crap ton of media 01:36 blaise I need to set up an http mirror for the media so it will download faster but I've not figured out how to do it yet 01:36 sameyepatch[m] oh, great 01:37 blaise it shouldn't take too long 01:37 blaise Sokomine: welcome back 01:37 Sokomine hi blaise :-) thanks 01:37 sameyepatch[m] no, I'm in already 01:37 blaise Sokomine: hello.. =) 01:38 * Sokomine wonders if blaise can be bribed to build some nice ships for spawning on the map 01:38 blaise ships ? 01:38 sameyepatch[m] blaise: I'm taking stuff from the chests in the spawn area, hope you don't mind 01:39 blaise sameyepatch[m]: nah, help yourself 01:39 blaise anything important I put in the safe at the shop inside 01:39 blaise or a locked chest 01:40 blaise Sokomine: I'm kind of cought up building a subway system for my server, what kind of ships are we talking about? 01:40 blaise modern navy vessels? wooden mast? 01:41 Sokomine blaise: a subway system is a good idea. don't forget to invite er..i think it was wayward_one who's our subway station builder :-) 01:41 sameyepatch[m] blaise: what mod did you use for the restrooms? 01:41 Sokomine mostly rather small wooden ships. i want to spawn them on the map from time to time as an extension to mg_villages 01:41 blaise Sokomine: awsome, will do 01:41 sameyepatch[m] ma & pops mod doesn't look as neat as this one 01:42 Sokomine blaise: you don't have to if you don't want to :-) just trying to catch viti^h^h ..er..volunteers for it :) (building ships isn't easy) 01:42 blaise I'll see what I can put together... seems like I remember someone building some 3 mast sail ships on a server a few years ago 01:42 blaise Wayward_One: hello? 01:43 blaise sameyepatch[m]: it's home decor by Vanessa.. 01:43 blaise she does outstanding work 01:43 sameyepatch[m] noted! 01:43 blaise the faucets and toilet are completely functional! 01:43 blaise even the shower stall turns on 01:44 sameyepatch[m] I'm testing that one in my world 01:44 sameyepatch[m] see you later guys 01:44 blaise cya 01:45 VanessaE ;) 01:47 blaise I wonder if maybe I can use world edit to build macro sections of subway tunnels and curves and just copy paste them in the map 01:47 blaise would save a lot of time 01:49 rubenwardy less impressive if you use worldedit 01:53 VanessaE blaise: I've done that. 01:53 blaise rubenwardy: I suppose you're right.. 01:53 VanessaE but tip: don't run technic power through there. in time, it'll become a right pain in the ass to find broken lines. 01:54 blaise lol 01:56 VanessaE seriously, 01:56 VanessaE BakerPrime and I played hell upgrading my server's public HV network to overhead lines 01:57 VanessaE when people run them underground, they have a tendency to meander and wind around stuff, making them very hard to trace out over long distances. 01:59 VanessaE in the server I set a simple guideline: 20m tall (relative to the neighboring road) poles made of streets steel support if available, otherwise technic windmill supports I guess will do, set in concrete, with a large cable clip on top 02:00 VanessaE keeps them totally out of the way, and makes them seem like they're a huge distance above, so it doesn't feel crowded or cluttered. 02:00 BakerPrime Gah, I got a ping and now I need to read the whole convo to see what's up.... I'm to curious.... 02:00 BakerPrime :P 02:01 VanessaE that's for long-distance. for neighborhood level, steel fenceposts in concrete, 10m tall, small cable clip on top. 02:01 VanessaE hi BakerPrime .. ping :)_ 02:01 BakerPrime Hello VanessaE 02:01 BakerPrime : ) 02:01 blaise hehe 02:02 blaise VanessaE: I'll keep that in mind 02:03 VanessaE oh and for a "customer" that needs to tap into the grid for a small LV or HV load, we put a pole with a supply converter on it, run neighborhood-level poles and cables as needed. 02:03 VanessaE or BakerPrime likes to use ... 02:03 VanessaE what do you call them? 02:03 BakerPrime Padmount transformers. 02:03 VanessaE yeah 02:04 BakerPrime They provide 36,000EU, and require very little space. 02:04 VanessaE BakerPrime: we should publish a standard :) 02:04 VanessaE tell every technic-using server owner they ought to bring their worlds up to code ;) 02:05 BakerPrime Switching station, 4 transformers, all the cable needed except the connections, all in a green box that fits on a 4x6 pad. Or upgrade to a 3p (LV/MV/HV) with a 7x5 pad. 02:05 BakerPrime ; ) 02:05 BakerPrime Hmm 02:05 BakerPrime Who'd be the code enforcement officier? :P 02:05 VanessaE um... 02:06 VanessaE well obviously not me as I'm kinda biased :) 02:06 BakerPrime :P 02:06 BakerPrime Ah 02:07 VanessaE besides, what do we do, fine a server owner some thousands of MG per violation? :) 02:07 BakerPrime Here. I'll paste a link for a picture of the ElectraTech D-Series Padmount Transformer, and the ElectraTech E-Series Padmount Transformer. :P 02:07 blaise miengeld 02:07 blaise lmao 02:07 BakerPrime Yeah, I guess. :P 02:08 VanessaE note to self: update the servers' screenshots for the forum topics. 02:09 BakerPrime Here's the single-phase version: http://pasteall.org/pic/index.php?id=122994 02:10 VanessaE and across the road from that ^ you can see one of the long-run HV towers. 02:10 VanessaE or part of it anyway 02:10 BakerPrime Yeah. 02:10 VanessaE BakerPrime: btw, 02:11 VanessaE you might want to use plastic boxes instead of wool. it takes more dye for now, but the texture is smoother. 02:11 BakerPrime That screenshot is taken at my Mall, which I'm currently working on the grid near there, so there is a few unfinished projects kicking around. 02:11 BakerPrime VanessaE: Can I color plastic boxes? 02:11 VanessaE yes. 02:11 BakerPrime Cut plastic boxes 02:11 VanessaE wait.. 02:11 VanessaE I'm wrong. 02:12 BakerPrime I didn't think I could. Sadly. 02:12 VanessaE you can cut them but cheapie never implemented coloring the cut pieces. 02:12 BakerPrime If I could, I would have used them a long time ago.... wool has a low burn rate. 02:12 BakerPrime Hence, if a wool transformer leaked IRL it would make a nice boom. 02:13 VanessaE I could swear on a stack of holy books that there was at least one almost-metal-looking block that could be used. 02:13 VanessaE try stone tiles. 02:13 VanessaE no wait 02:13 BakerPrime http://pasteall.org/pic/index.php?id=122995 02:13 BakerPrime Three phase version. 02:13 VanessaE the colorized version can't be cut 02:14 Emerald2 So I'm late to the party but did anyone tell blaise about this? https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=18951 02:14 BakerPrime VanessaE: I wish there was something better, Dark green wool cannot be crafted, so I need to beg a certain user to get some.... 02:14 VanessaE blaise: in that pic you can see neighborhood-level HV runs, with stylized poles to match the neighborhood 02:15 blaise nice 02:15 VanessaE BakerPrime: yeah, that dark green is a combo of a bug in unified dyes and in minetest_game. 02:16 BakerPrime VanessaE: Yeah, speaking of that I thought maybe we could remove the lines through the center of Woodgarden, looks kindah wrong for the period he was going for I think. Maybe we can run a line in from South Center Road to my former house? 02:17 BakerPrime Just a thought. 02:17 VanessaE woodgarden? is that what wd97 calls it? 02:17 BakerPrime Yup 02:17 VanessaE well... 02:17 blaise hrmm 02:17 VanessaE I dunno 02:18 BakerPrime Maybe. Not tonight, but we can look into it maybe. 02:18 blaise I wonder about some 12 phase 02:18 VanessaE but, 02:18 VanessaE the reason I ran HV service into the area is that one of his buildings actually uses it 02:20 VanessaE so I figure it's more like "Old that survives in a modern world" 02:20 BakerPrime VanessaE: I know, but I was thinking maybe we could run it in from the backside of the building, and limit the "modern exposure" 02:20 BakerPrime Yeah 02:20 BakerPrime I see what you were going for now. 02:20 VanessaE hm, yeah I suppose we could. 02:21 BakerPrime Anyway, it won't be tonight, I gotta be up early tomorrow. 02:21 VanessaE right 02:21 VanessaE where did wd97 disappear to anyway? 02:21 BakerPrime No idea. 02:21 BakerPrime He sortah just comes and goes, I think. 02:22 VanessaE I suppose so 02:23 BakerPrime Anyway, I will be AFK from here on out, I should be back tomorrow night sometime. maybe 14-18 hours from now. 02:23 BakerPrime I will read anything else when I get back. 02:23 BakerPrime G'night everyone! ; ) 02:28 * Sokomine fears there'll be charge for power supply on VanessaEs server with all that maintenance required :-) 02:29 VanessaE lol 02:29 VanessaE your street doesn't even HAVE service yet :) 02:30 Sokomine VanessaE: coloring cut pieces...er...yes. i'm still working on that in general. need to find a way to translate the colors between diffrent palettes. until i get a good idea there... 02:31 VanessaE Sokomine: don't worry about it until after 0.4.17 is out and unified dyes gets updated accordingly. 02:32 Sokomine i live so close to spawn and havn't even got power supply :-) 02:32 VanessaE cheapie should have some idea regarding translating betweem palettes. 02:32 VanessaE you don't have anything in-home that needs it :) 02:32 Sokomine :-) i do have some windmills hidden away here and there. the house even has a tower for that very purpose :-) just hidden 02:33 VanessaE guess I need to take a closer look next time I'm on :) 02:51 blaise hrmm 02:51 blaise do the wind mills generate power? 02:54 VanessaE not the ones in Sokomine's cottages mod, but technic's do. 04:38 blaise interesting 06:45 blaise sweet 06:46 blaise I got the innner loop for the first route of my subway completed 06:46 blaise now to play with the lua stuffs so it stops at the stations 06:46 blaise I hope it's not too difficult 07:11 jluc arent the stoping blocks ok for this ? 07:13 jluc i note the url here to remember : midnightsystems.net:30000 07:14 jluc minetest could benefit of a "favorite servers" feature ! 07:16 Hawk777 jluc: AFAICT it already has one? When I connect to a server it stars (favourites) it and shows it at the top of the list. Later I can reconnect or delete the favourite. 07:16 Hawk777 0.4.16 07:19 VanessaE jluc: your "favorites" are the top several items in the server list. 07:20 VanessaE (the rest of the list comes from the master server list) 07:30 jluc ahyes right great ! 07:30 jluc i didnt notice that 07:31 jluc and what is the 1 to 4 green bars indicator ? 07:31 VanessaE ping, I think 07:31 VanessaE or lag. 07:33 jluc k 07:35 jluc impressive noises with the tube 07:35 jluc but not so easy travel abilities as for now lol 07:35 jluc (work in progress) 07:40 blaise whelp, I got one subway train running good 07:41 blaise apparently having more than one is a bad idea 07:41 blaise atleast on the same track 07:53 swift110-phone_ Hey all 08:17 blaise HEY 08:17 blaise swift110-phone_: how's it going? 08:18 swift110-phone_ I'm good blaise how are you? 08:19 blaise I'm okay 08:19 blaise I just got my first subway train running on my server 08:19 blaise pretty excited about it 08:20 blaise normally it comes with 3 cars, I added 4 to it... 08:20 blaise I haven't quite finished the outer rail yet but the inner rail is fully functional 08:28 jluc nice elevator's doors 08:28 jluc in case you like to share knowledge, you could create a tutorial 08:29 jluc on how you build the elevator and its sensor 08:29 jluc and on how you build the subway loops 09:01 shangul rubenwardy, which throwing/bow mod do you use for your ctf? 09:06 blaise jluc: say what? 09:34 blaise omg, I gotta get some sleep 09:34 blaise goodnight 10:31 pgimeno is there something like WiFi for digilines? 12:22 rubenwardy shangul: shooter 12:22 shangul rubenwardy, link? 12:23 rubenwardy ... 12:23 rubenwardy !mod shooter 12:23 MinetestBot rubenwardy: Simple Shooter [shooter] by stu - https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?t=7846 12:24 shangul !help mod 12:24 MinetestBot https://github.com/sfan5/minetestbot-modules/blob/master/COMMANDS.md 12:25 shangul !mod lucky_block 12:25 MinetestBot shangul: Lucky Block MT by Alt. O.o 13:19 BakerPrime VanessaE: Also, I'm removing the line that runs down that underground road that runs from the Harbor area to cheapie-city. 13:19 BakerPrime It's un-used. 13:20 VanessaE ok. 13:20 VanessaE her house is on the road one block west of Lake 13:20 VanessaE I forget the name of the road. 13:21 VanessaE wat 13:21 BakerPrime Oh, Sokomine street. 13:21 BakerPrime It's has service. 13:21 VanessaE Ziggurat is the eastern terminus O_O 13:21 VanessaE it does? 13:21 VanessaE oh. :) 13:21 BakerPrime Nope. I found out yesterday that there is a line that runs from Ziggerat. 13:21 VanessaE huh/ 13:22 VanessaE well, yet another build-out I guess. 13:22 BakerPrime VanessaE: Well, sort of, the service for any customers on Sokomine is run off of Lake. 13:22 VanessaE oh heh 13:23 VanessaE maybe we'll finally find the source of that intermittent 3 MEU 13:24 BakerPrime Oh? 13:24 VanessaE yeah, I thought I'd traced-out the whole network 13:25 VanessaE I didn't know there was another leg out past the Ziggurat. 13:25 BakerPrime VanessaE: Also, the worst part about the extension from Ziggerat, is it's on "default:wood" poles. Scary stuff. O.O 13:25 VanessaE ew. 13:25 BakerPrime Yeah. 13:25 BakerPrime With ladders, and sticks, and fence and crap all over them. 13:26 BakerPrime VanessaE: Originally I never knew there was either, now I do. 13:26 VanessaE huh. 13:30 BakerPrime VanessaE: So what was the random off/on 3MEU? 13:30 VanessaE no I mean maybe we'll find it on that new-old leg, 13:30 VanessaE as in I still don't know wtf is causing it. 13:32 BakerPrime Ah 13:33 BakerPrime Darn 13:33 BakerPrime I got excited for a moment. 13:34 VanessaE heh 13:34 VanessaE however 13:34 VanessaE at least I finally got rid of all of the redundant switching stations from the HV network 13:35 VanessaE nore put a simple patch in technic that gives me a list 14:12 BakerPrime VanessaE: A "list" of what? Switching stations? 14:12 VanessaE yep 14:12 VanessaE at least of redundantr 14:13 VanessaE ... 14:13 VanessaE at least of redundant ones, 14:13 BakerPrime VanessaE: Nice, 14:13 BakerPrime *. 14:13 VanessaE (ironically it doesn't list the location of the one non-redundant one) 14:19 BakerPrime I suspect it's one of Lezzy's old reactor facilities that is causing the 3MEU on/off 14:20 VanessaE could be. 14:21 BakerPrime VanessaE: Also, I cleared all the old sequoias between the Harbor (Or what's left of said "Harbor") and West St last night, and replanted them with Birch Trees to allow more light in that area. Although I left the Rubber trees around Rubber Labs. 14:22 VanessaE ok 14:27 BakerPrime VanessaE: I'll let you deal with this, MOZ built it: http://pasteall.org/pic/index.php?id=123039 14:30 Sokomine BakerPrime, VanessaE: i'm creating my own power on vanessaes server :-) setting up the technic network was a lot of fun 14:36 yusf Are there some interesting boilerplate (≈good for game creation, flexible, API-rich etc) MT subgames in the works other than Minetest Game? 14:37 BakerPrime Sokomine: Nice, you are setting up a grid too? 14:42 nepugia hey, how do items on the ground store the content? 14:42 nepugia i am trying to call get_inventory on them and seem to be getting a nil back 14:45 BakerPrime Sokomine: MMPC (Mid-Minetest Power Company) and VanessaE have been working on the HV grid on VE-Survival lately. I think we are getting near to the halfway mark on completion. 15:12 Sokomine BakerPrime: i was amongst the first builders on the server :-) 15:13 Sokomine BakerPrime: and i've built the first nuclear reactor. the one at spawn. i was happily setting up my own small network when one day shadowninja came along, dropped more than half of the materials for the reactor at me, and asked for the reactor to be built :-) 15:13 Sokomine others helped with material and construction, and over time spawn area changed a lot 15:14 Billre That's cool. We did a limited version of a HV distribution network on TPS-Extreme for a few players. It was interesting for the people doing it but the server went down before we could expand it. Is there a l lot of interest in that from players? 15:15 Sokomine billre: sure, why not. most players may love to get power supply for free. in crowded areas and in houses it's not always easy to include a local small technic network 15:16 Sokomine back then huge networks where not really possible. technic has grown over time so that it can handle such networks now 15:22 Billre We did it about a year ago. We were going to make a powered village where players could chose their home and they'd already have power and a couple machines but every project of a community housing that I've seen on other servers never seems to work. Everyone wants to build their own base. So what do you do ... provide connections at the street? :D 15:24 Sokomine sounds like a plan, billre :-) 15:24 Sokomine some players ask for ready-made houses, but...that always felt strange to me. after all beeing able to create your own is where the game is really great 15:25 nepugia people also ask for pre made mods, even though modding is great fun :) 15:26 Sokomine that's diffrent :-) can't make all the mods one would want to have in a game. there's also sightseeing. build your own *and* explore what others created. double fun :-)) 15:26 Billre Some like the villages pre-builts and move right in ... others say "Look at my house!" And it's a newbie hut. "uhh .. nice! you might want to put a door on it." All kinds, ya know 15:27 nepugia > build your own *and* explore what others created. double fun :-)) 15:27 nepugia can also apply to mods :) 15:30 Krock can also apply to software voerall 15:30 Krock *overall 15:32 BakerPrime Sokomine: Nice. MMPC is looking at building another grid on another server right now, too. It's a creative server, but a realism one. So power is sort of a needed thing. 15:56 Tommy432 Hello 15:57 srifqi Hello, Tommy432 ! 15:57 Tommy432 .msg Shara 16:03 Tommy432 whats going on? 16:17 danSNDBX hi 16:20 srifqi Basically, nothing. 16:21 danSNDBX maybe we should do something :D 17:16 Billre Why would a lock chest show up as a regular chest when you point at it? 17:22 Tommy432 i got a raspberry pi today it plays minetest so slow! what am i doing wrong? 17:25 t20kdc Tommy432: Are you running a client, a server, or singleplayer (which is client & server)? 17:28 Billre headless? 17:33 Tommy432 single player 17:34 Tommy432 im thinking its a video driver issue? 17:34 pgimeno is your frame rate low? 17:34 t20kdc I'd recommend checking the profiler. Pressing F5 twice should be sufficient. 17:35 Tommy432 very low. 17:35 t20kdc Hm. How far can you see (in-game)? Possibly too high a draw distance... 17:36 Tommy432 i have it set really low. im new to the rapsberry pi so im sure its just me 17:37 Tommy432 is there a good tutorial that shows how to set up a simple server for anyone to log into? 17:37 Sokomine afaik the pi does not do so well as a client? for quite some time it really couldn't handle displaying a mt client. server was no problem as long as not too many demanding mods are installed 17:40 Tommy432 will a dual core computer serve as a good minetest server computer? 17:44 t20kdc Tommy432: If a Pi is sufficient to run the server acceptably, a regular computer server should be more than enough. 17:44 t20kdc That said, if it happens to be from 1995, exceptions might need to be made. 17:48 Tommy432 im running a version on linux on it now. just downloaded the minetest server package 17:49 Tommy432 the dual core computer seems to play minetest ok, it should handle being a server 17:51 Tommy432 cant seem to log in through the ip address. im thinking theres a config file i have to fool with to tell it which port to use? 17:52 Tommy432 it works fine locally though. i have 3 computers logged into it locally 17:52 Tommy432 but not from the outside world 17:52 pgimeno maybe you need to open the router port and point it to that machine 17:53 Tommy432 the port has been forwarded. does linux block ports with some kind of hidden firewall? im new to linux 17:53 pgimeno udp? 17:54 Tommy432 yes 17:55 t20kdc I should probably note that there shouldn't be a "hidden firewall", no. A rather curious situation to be in, though... Mind, some routers don't like you trying to contact your own IP. 17:57 t20kdc If this is the case, I wouldn't know. 17:58 Tommy432 hmmm. 17:58 Tommy432 i didnt consider that. 17:58 t20kdc Neither did I, until I found out the hard way... 17:58 Krock from my ubuntu system it's possible to start a server straight forward, only forwarding the port on the router config 17:59 Tommy432 lol 17:59 Tommy432 how did you test it? 17:59 Krock MinetestBot can test whether it's up or not: !up
17:59 Krock ^ that and volunteers 18:00 Krock hint: MTB also runs commands in PMs 18:00 t20kdc Tommy432: Went someplace else. Krock's solution should work - alternatively, go to a coffee shop? 18:01 t20kdc (That said, coffee shop firewalls are sometimes annoying too. grr.) 18:01 Tommy432 will minetest play on a phone? 18:02 t20kdc Depends. Is it Android? 18:02 Tommy432 i can use my cell carrier to log in? 18:02 Tommy432 yes 18:03 t20kdc Tommy432: I still recommend trying MinetestBot first - if it fails, then this will probably fail also - but: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.minetest.minetest 18:05 t20kdc (Krock: ...I should probably read up on that bot's commands, huh.) 18:08 Krock (t20kdc, you should do that) 18:13 Tommy432 how do i activate minetest bot? do i type that in the chat window? 18:13 Krock !up 127.0.0.1 18:13 MinetestBot 127.0.0.1:30000 seems to be down 18:14 Tommy432 !up 24.183.252.83:3000 18:14 MinetestBot Tommy432: use 'example.org 1337' instead of 'example.org:1337' 18:15 Tommy432 !up 24.183.252.83 18:15 MinetestBot 24.183.252.83:30000 seems to be down 18:15 Tommy432 frak 18:17 dogetest Hello. Is this bot? https://github.com/minetest-mods/irc 18:18 Krock kinda. it's a bridge 18:18 Krock and here's MTB: https://github.com/sfan5/minetestbot-modules 18:19 Tommy432 my router has an opton for service name. does that make a difference? i just left it at ftp 18:20 dogetest python? 18:20 pgimeno Tommy432: FTP typically uses port 21 (which you don't want to use for minetest) 18:20 Tommy432 i have the port set at 3000 18:21 pgimeno Tommy432: most routers I've used have both services and manual port/protocol redirection 18:21 Tommy432 quake server is an option! omg how old is this router. LOL 18:22 sfan5 set it to "custom" and enter port 30000 udp 18:22 pgimeno Tommy432: maybe you're confusing 3000 with 30000? 18:22 pgimeno Tommy432: Minetest uses 30,000 but you keep talking about 3,000 18:23 Krock use whatever you want as long there are no conflicts 8) 18:28 Tommy432 !up 18:28 MinetestBot Tommy432: give me an address (and port if you want) 18:29 Tommy432 omg pgimeno i missed a zero! 18:30 Tommy432 how can i be such stupid? 18:30 pgimeno the important thing is, does it work now? 18:31 Tommy432 i have to update it but at least it sees it now 18:31 pgimeno yay 18:31 Tommy432 thanks guys for letting me know how dumb i am! 18:32 Tommy432 LOL 18:32 Tommy432 !up 24.183.252.83 18:32 MinetestBot 24.183.252.83:30000 is up (123ms) 18:32 pgimeno so, everyone happy :) 18:32 Tommy432 one freaking 0 18:38 Tommy432 Thanks for your help guys 19:22 dogetest https://github.com/dogetest/economy_state 19:27 * Krock gives dogetest a handful of tabs to indent his code 19:28 t20kdc hey, two-space-style isn't that bad 19:28 t20kdc I mean... I do wonder "why use two spaces when you can use one and get the same amount of enragement without as much tapping" 19:28 t20kdc but it's not inherently bad 19:29 dogetest if I only had my GNU box 20:57 pgimeno I like two spaces. I hate tabs. 20:58 pgimeno my own mod uses two spaces too. https://github.com/pgimeno/digiplay 21:01 dogetest to discuss it is like style... I do appreciate critics, but each language sets different style rules/consensus and its hard to keep with each one of them. 21:03 pgimeno tabs default to 8 spaces everywhere - far too much for normal indentation. They make code almost unreadable out of the editors. Some people use different tab sizes and collaborating on the same project results in screwing alignment. Sometimes the coding guidelines don't specify the default tab size (like in the Lua style guide), leading to arbitrary rules about line length. 21:09 t20kdc GNU nano is particularly problematic because I've never bothered to look up how to configure it (I'm particularly scared the L-word will get involved) 21:10 pgimeno I use nano for lots of things, including the above mod. 21:11 pgimeno man nano says -T number changes tab size. 21:11 serp savages (vim and 4spaces) 21:13 dogetest I do use nano too and always configured to switch tabs to 2 spaces 21:31 swift110 hey all 21:40 Calinou t20kdc: I personally prefer 2-space indentation myself 21:40 Calinou I am not very vehement about it, I'm ok with tabs or 4 spaces too, I prefer them because they play better with split editors, even in the era of 16:9 displays 21:41 Calinou (however, please don't default tab display to 8 spaces, that's just cruel :D) 21:41 * Calinou looks at web browsers or nano 21:46 dogetest I'm willing to give some dogecoins to anyone who uses this subgame online. (https://github.com/dogetest/dogeworld) 21:47 dogetest just for the fun of it 21:48 ThomasMonroe O_o free money? 21:49 dogetest if u have free energy and connection then yes 21:49 ThomasMonroe lol 21:49 dogetest the mod needs real money to be played 21:49 dogetest dogecoins on this case 21:50 dogetest I may even work for you 21:50 dogetest just hand me out a shell 22:08 artimax Are you monetizing the subgame w/ dogecoins? 22:08 artimax Im trying to understand the goal 22:21 dogetest artimax: idk all the possibilities, but I feel its more like a faucet 22:24 dogetest basically, there is a mod called economy, which adds a player-vending machine, a server-vending machine and bank atm. Ive made that mod talk to dogecoin 22:25 dogetest so u could sell blocks/itens to a vending in exchange of doges and then buy blocks/itens on those same machines, on player-vending machines or tranfering with bank atm 22:41 dogetest artimax: I also made this protection mod called economy_state which will charge players a fee for digging or placing 22:42 dogetest You also could charge players in exchange of interact privilege
