21:39 Asad3ainJalout Hello guys, my gaming community used to run a heavily modified minecraft server, specifically the feed the beat mod pack. We are seriously looking into switching to minetest to A) allow people who did not buy minecraft to play B) allow people who could not run minecraft to play C) switch to a more open and user friendly alternative. My question is, is there a minetest game that has a nice mixture of technical, "magic" mods

21:59 Hijiri_        there are a couple magically-themed mods but they don't have the same level of content as some of those in MC

22:01 Hijiri_        there aren't a lot of tech mods either. The big one is technic, though I think it lacks the number of toys that MC tech mods typically offer

22:03 Hijiri         There are things you can do in Forge that aren't possible in the current Minetest modding api, but I think you could still get close to the kinds of mods you have in MC anyway

23:16 Asad3ainJalout Hijiri: Ahh thank you for your response, Well we are looking to switch over regardless since having the community able to play together is more important than a few nick nacks. What would you say is the most polished and content rich subgame. I am sure we can add whichever mods we feel fit with our server after that.
23:59 Hijiri         Asad3ainJalout: I would just go with minetest_game and put mods on top of it. Subgames usually modify the mods in minetest_game so mods might not be compatible with those versions
