Time Nick Message 10:26 TenPlus1 Hi folks 12:03 MTDiscord Hi 12:22 MTDiscord hello there 13:16 MTDiscord hi Ten 14:15 TenPlus1 You got a quick second ? 14:22 TenPlus1 Would it be possible to remove comments from my mods in contentdb that arent a mod review, basically things like texture issues or arguments ? not only to clean things up, but to get rid of any negative vibes against my mods and minetest 14:24 MTDiscord Those are part of the public record. If you don't like people calling you out on repeat copyright infringement, you should more carefully vet your sources. 14:24 TenPlus1 I assumed the comments were for reviews only, not argument, but that's fine. 14:25 MTDiscord the contentdb threads feature is essentially meant to act as a forum for packages 14:25 MTDiscord Just be thankful that CDB doesn't have a "strikes" system (yet) like other platforms do. Having to repeatedly take down illegal content, only to have it go back up and wait for somebody else to find another problem causes significant headaches for the editorial team. 14:26 TenPlus1 that's an issue also, wouldnt it be possible to simple msg me the issue so I can fix and re-upload package instead of pulling it down each time 14:26 MTDiscord private threads are a thing but usually package approval and other "management" threads are public by default 14:26 MTDiscord Reviews themselves that are just a bug report get converted to threads, but the threads themselves generally remain public barring extenuating circumstances. 14:27 TenPlus1 My mods have contributions from many sources, which is why I ask for a msg/comment so I can fix in advance rather than pulling the whole mod 14:28 MTDiscord It's your own responsibility to vet your sources, and you are still ultimately responsible for what you choose to accept and publish. 14:29 TenPlus1 true, will double check anything new from here on in 14:29 MTDiscord CDB doesn't treat mods with community contributors differently than mods with a sole author. 14:30 TenPlus1 no worries 14:30 MTDiscord Might want to ask for a thorough audit from your community of existing textures (instead of getting it piecemeal whenever anyone feels like reporting something on CDB) 14:31 TenPlus1 my community was Xanadu server and until that's up and active again it would be a bit difficult to have players check these things 14:31 MTDiscord And make your contributors agree to some terms. I publish contributing requirements to my projects that accept contributions, to which each contributor must agree, and it includes things like "original work only, no derivatives" for certain things so that they can stay safely uniformly licensed... 14:36 TenPlus1 laters o/
