Time Nick Message 10:54 [MTMatrix] thanks GitHub for not having project labels but only repo ones, so that I had to manually recreate them in the modtools repository 11:04 MTDiscord Zughy: when you have too much habits on gitlab haha 🙂 11:06 MTDiscord Krock: release cycle depends much on the product, but we are not a product, we are an OSS software. The best is to set a reasonable goal of release calendar. Quarterly, or every 4 months is fine. It permits modders to adopt it and use new features if needed. 11:07 MTDiscord the main issue is how our RC cycle works, how much time ? because we tend to almost never use the patch releases but always feature releases. If RC is 1 month over 2 months, it's too much, for 4 months it's long but can be fine for testers 11:08 MTDiscord i think having 3 releases per year is fine, we are an engine/a game, and people needs to follow us. If we release every too much people may be harassed on the testing 11:37 ROllerozxa by the way, should there be a beta release of sorts to the forums for people to test 5.9.0 before it's released? now that the CI can generate good windows builds one could just link to nightly.link to have people test them 13:13 sfan5 yes we should do an RC 13:13 sfan5 after the SAO visibility thing gets merged 13:45 [MTMatrix] So 5.9 for that? 13:57 sfan5 yes? 14:15 rubenwardy yeah we do usually do a release candidate (5.9.0-rc1)
