Time Nick Message 00:00 v-rob Somewhat unrelated to my last font comments, but I found why Unifont hasn't been scaling right with the TTF. Fonts should be measured in points. 1 point == 1 pixel at 72 DPI, but we assume that 1 point == 1 pixel at 96 DPI. Hence, setting Unifont to a size of 12 has actually been making it a point size of 9. Fixing that bug results in NO artifacts. I will make a PR ASAP to fix this bug. 00:01 v-rob I don't think it necessarily solves the problem of TTF and pixel fonts outright, but it does do something. 00:02 v-rob Actually, it might. I have to look into it. 00:05 sfan5 hm 02:15 kilbith there's actually a regression with this commit: https://github.com/minetest/minetest_game/commit/5273fcb3ad 02:16 kilbith 1. grab i3 2. open inventory -> normal model colors 3. exit, re-open inventory -> darker colors 02:16 kilbith git revert 5273fcb3a and colors stay the same 02:24 v-rob #11848 - Does just about everything you could want as a replacement for pixel fonts, and all it does is adds settings and tweaks a calculation. Unifont works beautifully with it. 02:24 ShadowBot https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/11848 -- Improve TTF support for pixel-style fonts by v-rob 10:07 rubenwardy Is there any reason why 1) strip_color_codes defaults to false 2) it's even an option? 10:12 rubenwardy #11849 10:12 ShadowBot https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/11849 -- Enable strip color codes by rubenwardy 12:08 sfan5 idk maybe you want to give users the freedom to do whatever 13:21 MTDiscord kilbith: That's not a regression 13:21 MTDiscord Grab the old model for i3 if you want full brightness 13:21 MTDiscord Relying on missing normals is a hack 13:22 MTDiscord Pretty sure the reduced brightness is just the shaders doing their lighting job, which is another issue and may not be fixed by getting rid of normals 13:28 sfan5 maybe model[] should have a fullbright mode 13:28 sfan5 or better a way to set the simulated light level 13:46 kilbith eh, no. model[] has its own scene and its own lighting 13:52 sfan5 and was is it set to? 13:52 sfan5 what* 13:54 kilbith for the lighting? 13:54 kilbith it has no support for shaders 14:05 kilbith what's left remaining for this? testing? https://github.com/minetest/minetest/pull/11763 15:09 nrz what the hell is that ? https://twitter.com/LizaFlux/status/1468936683668537344?s=20 15:12 sfan5 blockchain? 15:15 MTDiscord huh? ? 15:15 MTDiscord I'm getting scam vibes 15:16 MTDiscord MT isn't really related to the blockchain at all... 15:18 nrz yeah it was some spam i received on a post talking about containers, i don't understand anything xD 15:19 MTDiscord buzzword bingo 15:19 MTDiscord ^ or as I like to call it, bullshit bing 15:19 MTDiscord o 18:10 MTDiscord Decentralized execution of specially ported apps using blockchains? Neat. Sounds like a fun research project. They're free to use MT for it, same as anyone else, so long as they respect the license. 18:58 Fleckenstein > MT isn't really related to the blockchain at all... 18:58 Fleckenstein but you can build a chain of blocks 19:24 MTDiscord You can also build a block of chains 19:33 MTDiscord You can graph the crypto 20:02 MTDiscord Isn't the blockchain basically just the nodechain but 16x larger? 20:17 sfan5 good point 20:31 MTDiscord Going by #DEFINE BS, shouldn't it be 10x larger? 20:33 MTDiscord shouldn't that be 0x10x, not 10x? 20:48 MTDiscord No, 0xA
