10:59 loganrun yeah, o.k. what is the procedure for getting a modpack to work. is there a per mod config file or something one edits
10:59 ZenonSeth normally you just download the modpack, and place it in your mods directory
11:00 ZenonSeth then if you play singleplayer, you press Configure on your world, and enable the modpack (which should enable all mods in it, it's in a tree structure)

11:18 loganrun I was going to upgrade to 0.5 but there is no compiled windows executable. I run linux but have windows computers that need to connect to server

11:20 loganrun yeah I was trying to avoid the pain of having to figure out how to compile it on windows
11:20 CALINOU compiling on Windows can be done using MinGW as well
11:20 CALINOU I never got it to work with MSYS2 though :(

11:24 ZenonSeth first server i hosted was accidentally 0.5 and everyone with a 0.4.16 client was "floating" 1 block above ground

11:25 deltasquared I found an interesting thing where if you downsize the cbox (and visual scale, though that's just aesthetic) of the player, standing too close to a block prevents jumping

11:34 loganrun so if I do exit to menu, then do play again the village_canadian has unsatisfied dependencies hdb and nbu, then if I exit the client and restart it it runs o.k. until I do that again apparently

11:40 ZenonSeth > Yes, that's right. The village type canadian consists of very special houses that needs mods from Mauvebic in order to be able to spawn. I considered adding alternative nodes for it, but that wouldn't do the buildings any justice. They're best viewed with Mauvebic's mm2 modpack.

19:41 ZenonSeth I'm trying to accomplish something, and not sure the best way to approach it. So basically i want to cordon off large areas (say like 1x5x1km) with bounds. But not in relgular grid or anything, just specific areas I want to find in-game

19:43 sfan5 if the crash is std::bad_alloc you can try a version of minetest without luajit support
