Or is there more to it? The only method that I found is 'minetest.override_item', but that registers the same item name with a different definition. I want to completely remove an item from the game without having to modify the original mod that created it. 02:06 AlexYst AntumDeluge: Deleting them from the tables isn't enough. Hold on, I think I saw the function you need. I'll look it up. 02:07 AlexYst AntumDeluge: minetest.unregister_item(name) 02:08 * KaadmY stares 02:08 AlexYst Don't even bother with the tables, that function will clean all that out for you when it does the rest of its thing. 02:09 AlexYst KaadmY: Hmm? 02:09 KaadmY Oh, just the name seemed kinda obvious in hindsight :P 02:10 AlexYst Ha ha, yeah, I just searched the doc file for "unregister". I was fairly certain that's what the name was, but wanted to be sure before giving any advice. 02:11 AntumDeluge Thank you AlexYst, I guess the wiki isn't up to date? 02:11 AlexYst AntumDeluge: Yeah, the wiki's not up to date. I've been running into outdated information in the wiki too, but there doesn't seem to be a way to register an account there to update it. 02:12 AntumDeluge Thank you, I appreciate your help. 02:12 AlexYst Yeah, no problem. 03:12 tumeninodes can anyone help this user on an android build? https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17937 03:13 tumeninodes not sure if they know how t connect to irc. so I am asking for them. has no sun or moon in sky 03:15 tumeninodes and is not using skybox mod. thank you 03:15 Miner_48er Are they using the official app? I think there are some good people anywhere, you don't have to be friend to all of them. 17:29 rubenwardy so a bouncer (or VPN) is the only way 17:29 Nexus24680 BTW is there a way to place blocks without having to doubleclick 17:29 Nexus24680 I mean double tap 17:29 Nexus24680 Android 17:29 Raven262 Yes, use PC 17:29 Raven262 xD 17:30 Nexus24680 Funny, but seriously, is there any way? 17:30 Raven262 When i make a server, I'll most likely ban android clients. 17:30 Raven262 I don't know if there is a key bind 17:30 tumeninodes Raven, just mostly immature, follower type personalities 17:31 Raven262 tumeninodes, thats everywhere 17:31 Raven262 thats actually how i would describe these people here 17:31 Raven262 :P 17:31 Raven262 Not all, but almost all. 17:31 tumeninodes true, it's moreso just society as whole these days ha 17:32 Raven262 Its how it always was 17:32 tumeninodes android is a tough customer 17:32 Raven262 Why do you people think that your time is so special? 17:32 Nexus24680 BTW Any subgames to make this behaving more like MC 17:32 Raven262 It is like any other time, and will be remembered like any other time. 17:32 tumeninodes sorry, I switch back n forth in convo 17:32 Raven262 Yes, Nexus24680, moment i'll send you a link 17:33 Raven262 https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=16407 17:34 rubenwardy ^ 17:34 rubenwardy that's a good one 17:34 tumeninodes I have met people from many places, and find most Americans are definitely more obnoxious than others 17:35 tumeninodes yep, Wuzzy's doing really good job with that 17:35 Nexus24680 Does it has villages? 17:36 Raven262 Seems so. 17:37 Nexus24680 Because I'm looking for one that has villages and I can't find one 17:38 Raven262 That one should have it 17:38 Raven262 I think. 17:39 Nexus24680 OK. 17:39 Nexus24680 Let me mod that mod then 17:39 IhrFussel Raven262, you were probably joking but if I were you I wouldn't want to exclude ~75% of the user base on my server 17:39 Raven262 Yes, i know 17:40 Raven262 Its probably 80% of clients in all of the server combined 17:40 tumeninodes Im not sure Mineclone2 has villages as of yet 17:40 Raven262 *servers 17:40 Raven262 Well if it doesn't 17:40 Raven262 try combining it with that villages modpack 17:40 tumeninodes there's a few villages mods 17:40 Raven262 the Sokomine's one is probably the best one 17:40 Raven262 if there are any others 17:41 IhrFussel 90% of them don't know what the heck they are doing...they don't even know that they are playing on a MT server since their app is most likely a clone ... but a few of them can actually be very cooperative and willing to learn about the whole scamming situation 17:41 tumeninodes yes, there is a new one released the other day seems nice 17:42 Raven262 IhrFussel, on craig's server, there was this specific clone players really used often, it was based on an outdated version of minetest. 17:42 Nexus24680 I have installed like 5 villages mods and none of them work 17:42 Raven262 Craig's server used unified inventory or something 17:42 Raven262 that would crash their client instantly 17:42 tumeninodes https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17915 ErrorNull's work 17:42 Raven262 guess how we found the people who used the client 17:43 Raven262 ErrorNull has done nice work on villagers, rather than villages 17:43 tumeninodes I've been corrected, sorry :P 17:44 Raven262 xD 17:44 IhrFussel The app will crash in many situations on Android due to low RAM and too many other apps running in the background ... it can happen during connect, when opening inventory, when entering a loaded area etc 17:45 tumeninodes Sokomine's work has been very good 17:45 IhrFussel By loaded I mean many nodes placed especially mesh nodes are deadly on Android 17:46 Raven262 RIP homedecor and moreblocks then 17:46 rubenwardy moreblocks doesn't have that much 17:46 rubenwardy mostly homedecor and technic :) 17:46 Raven262 yes, i forgot technic 17:47 Raven262 That is probably one of the best mods out here, massive work has been put in it 17:47 tumeninodes Imagine the Android devices of tomorrow 17:48 IhrFussel There are already Android phones/tablets with 2+ GB RAM ... those have zero issues with MT servers...but look at the price of those "flagship" devices 17:48 Raven262 And android on them lol 17:48 Raven262 Better install some linux 17:48 tumeninodes they're just running the same course as pc's did 17:49 IhrFussel You get a smartphone with 512 MB RAM for $30 ... want 1 GB? Expect to pay at least $50 ... 2 GB RAM starts at $150 I think 17:51 Krock or 3 gigs for $120, if you find an used phone which is still in good condition 17:51 tumeninodes you know someone, somewhere has an android device with 16Gb ram, some unworldly processor, etc... just biding their time to hit the shelves 17:51 Raven262 Thats actually quite common here, the 2Gb RAM on android 17:51 Krock my phone has actually 2x more cores than this PC here.. 17:51 Raven262 At least i have had a tablet with 1Gb 17:52 Raven262 lol RIP PC 17:52 Raven262 specs? 17:52 tumeninodes I bought the Nexus7 when it originally came out for my kid 17:52 IhrFussel They are holsing back the CPUs/RAM chips because they know they can trick the customers...many people think "this is the best technology you can have in phones" NOO it's not 17:52 IhrFussel holding* 17:53 tumeninodes the screen got cracked at a friend's house so I took it away and forgot about it actually 17:53 Raven262 Of course its not, their evolution is a bit too slow looking from this perspective. 17:53 tumeninodes now I find to replace the screen will cost 1/2 what I paid for it... 17:54 Raven262 Buy a new device, of course, only way with those :P 17:54 Raven262 Its all only a big evil plan on how to get money out of your pockets :P 17:54 tumeninodes of course they do that... they think consumers are dumb..., and they are right 17:54 Raven262 Those who need a phone with 2Gb ram quite are 17:55 Raven262 I don't see a use for such a device 17:55 tumeninodes and they know people will always pull out the almighty plastic to have all they cannot actually afford to have, to show off to and or keep up with their friends 17:55 Raven262 yes. 17:56 IhrFussel I still wonder WHY in this day and age NOBODY supposedly came up with a new battery tech ... it's kinda hard to believe 17:57 Raven262 Storing energy is a bit hard, you have to place it somewhere, which depletes a little, and you have to store it, which depletes it a little over time, then you have to use it, which also depletes it during the transition and actual use. 17:57 tumeninodes well, they did come out with the battery / incendiary device 17:57 IhrFussel All phones use Li-Ion or Li-Poly AFAIK...since 2000 or so 17:58 Raven262 Most of the lightweight devices do 17:58 Raven262 Like drones 17:59 tumeninodes you also have people who leave the device plugged in almost 24/7, which puts strain on these batteries 17:59 Raven262 I was told that those batteries should be recharged only when completely empty 18:00 Raven262 And that that makes the battery's life longer 18:00 tumeninodes you could tell people that numerous times per day... and still they will not care 18:01 IhrFussel Raven262, umm that is actually wrong...the best way to charge them is 30 - 70% ... as oon as they reached 70% unplug and use till 30% 18:01 Raven262 Thanks for the info, IhrFussel 18:01 red-001 I'm starting to think batteries are black magic 18:01 Raven262 But i don't have an android device myself 18:02 IhrFussel What you remember applies to the very old batteries 18:02 * rubenwardy leaves his on charge overnight 18:02 red-001 everyone has a diffrent thing to say about how you are suppose to charge them 18:02 red-001 I guess it's because of all the diffrent types of chargers and batteries 18:02 IhrFussel But pretty much all agree on "don't leave the device charged at 100%" 18:03 Raven262 Cause it can burn, explode or worse. 18:03 tumeninodes I usually only charge mine, when someone calls my land phone to say they have been trying to callme, and I say "woops my cell is dead" 18:03 Raven262 xD 18:04 Raven262 𓆣 18:04 rubenwardy it's 2017 18:04 Raven262 DId anybody see that scarab there? 18:04 Raven262 𓆣 18:05 * Raven262 thinks he got the number right 18:05 rubenwardy it should be able to disconnect itself from the battery at 100%, and just not draw power 18:05 tumeninodes <--- misses pagers... you could throw them so much farther and not as expensive 18:05 bigfoot547 Nope, I just saw replacement char 18:05 tumeninodes I see it 18:05 Raven262 tumeninodes, which OS? 18:05 IhrFussel AFAIK the lifetime of the Li-Ion/Poly batteries increases if you don't fully charge them... I read that you can charge them only 500 times before they lose capacity if you always charge 0-100% ... if you only charge 50-100% they last 1,500 charges, if you charge them only 30% each time they last over 5,000 and so on 18:05 tumeninodes Minty :P 18:05 Raven262 Damn, seems that only mint can see it 18:06 Raven262 I recently installed peppermint and can't see it anymore 18:06 tumeninodes cuz Mint ROCKS! 18:06 Raven262 Yeah probably 18:06 tumeninodes why did you do that? 18:06 Raven262 Drivers 18:06 Raven262 Needed to recompile kernel 18:06 tumeninodes and... how's that workin out for ya? 18:06 tumeninodes :D 18:06 Raven262 nice 18:06 Raven262 games work better 18:07 tumeninodes but how much better 18:07 Raven262 and i can't see scarabs :P 18:07 Raven262 Much much better, no more funny textures in dota2 and tf2 18:07 bigfoot547 I just have old fonts 18:07 Raven262 i wonder how do i install the whatever makes me see the scarabs 18:08 tumeninodes ummm.... :P 18:24 IhrFussel Battery Monitor Widget 18:24 IhrFussel Displays battery temp, volt, current and much more 18:24 tumeninodes well now my joke isn;t funny 18:25 Raven262 𓆣 18:25 Raven262 these scarabs are just so... pixelated 18:25 Raven262 odd 18:25 Raven262 maybe i should change to some less pixelated font 18:25 tumeninodes looks fine to me 18:25 tumeninodes reminds me of space invaders 18:26 Raven262 Oh antialiasing makes it look better :D 18:26 tumeninodes there ya go 18:26 IhrFussel Also Krock many phone manufacturers increase the volt limit on purpose...Samsung phones for example peak at 4.4 volts when they reach 100% 18:27 tumeninodes that's why they blow up 18:27 tumeninodes run hot 18:27 Krock you simply don't charge a Li-Ion cell above 4.2V 18:27 Natechip lol 18:27 Natechip BOOOMMM 18:28 Krock boom. hand lost 18:28 tumeninodes or ear 18:28 IhrFussel But the manufacturer chooses the volt limit..my current Huawei phone peaks at 4.3 volts 18:28 Natechip then court :D 18:28 tumeninodes international standards time 18:28 Raven262 𓂀 18:29 tumeninodes or worse if in your pocket O_O 18:29 tumeninodes HEY! that's a cool one Raven 18:30 * Raven262 searches trough ancient hieroglyphs 18:30 Raven262 xD 18:30 Raven262 u0131a3 is a scarab 18:30 tumeninodes Maybe I'll make a Peanuts font :P 18:30 Raven262 you can also type scarabs 18:30 Raven262 ctrl + shift + u and type 0131a3 18:31 tumeninodes 𓆣 18:31 Raven262 there :D 18:31 tumeninodes muahahahahahahaaaaaa 18:32 tumeninodes first step in my plan for world domination is completw 18:32 tumeninodes *e 18:32 Raven262 yea 18:33 Raven262 scarabs must have much to do with it xD 18:33 tumeninodes nah, just my meds wearing off... nvm 18:33 Raven262 xD 18:35 tumeninodes well, gotta go get summer camp stuff worked out for the rugrat. see yas 18:35 Raven262 see ya 19:36 Sokomine five village mods? 19:47 Sokomine worldedit schematics are supported as well. but most houses are .mts files now. you can use those with worldedit as well - with /mtschemcreate and /mtschemplace. or with my handle_schematics mod 19:47 Sokomine the societies-mod is pretty nice. it's a very small village type but feels very comftable and fitting 19:50 Raven262 Wb tumeninodes 19:50 Raven262 What are .mts files? 19:50 tumeninodes Howdy 19:51 Sokomine minetest schematic format. a binary format also used for decoration in mapgen 19:51 tumeninodes schematic files 19:51 Raven262 Ah 19:51 tumeninodes Hi Sokomine 19:51 Sokomine just another way of storing things efficiently 19:51 Raven262 How do i export in that format? 19:51 Sokomine hi tumeninodes :-) 19:52 Sokomine use //mtschemcreate filename instead of //save filename in worldedit. or use my handle_schematics mod by placing a handle_schematics:build chest in front of what you want to save 19:52 Raven262 Okay, thanks for the info. 19:53 tumeninodes I'm wondering if for 0.5.0 there can be a way to include updating MT from settings page 19:53 rubenwardy only for Windows 19:53 tumeninodes bummer 19:53 rubenwardy really we should automate the install builder 19:53 Raven262 I'm wondering if devs are going to add coloured lightning in 0.5, but probably not. 19:54 tumeninodes that would be nice 19:54 Raven262 Minetest will probably never have it, sadly. 19:54 tumeninodes don;t understand why though, users are still getting the old 0.4.13 build with ubuntu derives 19:55 tumeninodes I thought est31 fixed that 19:59 tumeninodes I know the PPAs are current but why is Ubuntu still using 0.4.13 ? 20:01 red-001 how would I know 20:02 red-001 maybe their package manager moved to the bahamas or something 20:04 tumeninodes Hi red-001 20:05 tumeninodes maybe their PM needs a kick to the bum 21:50 tyng how do i set myself in creative mode on my server? 22:58 Fixer kaeza: in some ways yes, in some not 22:58 Fixer kaeza: but it is heavy shit for sure 22:59 Fixer kaeza: some sites are loading like on dialup... 22:59 Fixer dat heavy 22:59 rubenwardy is web 3.0 spdy? 23:09 Fixer go ahead 23:10 Fixer rubenwardy: but imagine how this kind of site would look under web 2.0 paradigm, I expect clusterfuck 23:11 rubenwardy web 2.0 isn't related to the design of a site 23:12 Fixer many still relate 23:13 rubenwardy it wouldn't be hard to make that site look a lot better, and be more usable 23:13 Fixer web 1.0 is dialup era, static sites, few js, java applets, flash, web 2.0 - all the craze, fat, heavy on js and other 23:13 rubenwardy nope 23:13 rubenwardy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0 23:13 rubenwardy also, implying that java and flash applets aren't far 23:13 rubenwardy *fat 23:14 rubenwardy or slow 23:16 rubenwardy the generic jumbletron bootstrap craze where you have to scroll loads to get any information is bad 23:16 rubenwardy but designing sites in a way that doesn't look shit isn't 23:21 Fixer 1 m y r i agr am 23:21 Fixer hmmm 23:22 wilkgr The slowest thing to load are the screenshots, which aren't integral to the website. http://wilkgr.altervista.org/mw/ 23:23 wilkgr (I do need to fix the captions for the images though) 23:46 rubenwardy wilkgr, pretty good, needs some more attention to margins/paddings though 23:46 rubenwardy especially the truncated sidebar 23:57 rubenwardy nice fieldset here: http://wilkgr.altervista.org/ 23:57 rubenwardy background's on point too 23:58 wilkgr Hover over the sidebar, and it expands 23:58 wilkgr But yes 23:58 wilkgr It's still a WIP 23:58 rubenwardy it expands way too far, and would be fine as full expanded to start off with :) 23:59 wilkgr I do have a version of the CSS like that :) 23:59 wilkgr I just haven't uploaded it to the server yet 23:59 rubenwardy bookmarked that page, I'll check the game out at some point - it looks good 23:59 wilkgr Have you seen Ravenfield?
