14:44 Fritz01 Hello
14:44 Fritz01 I've added a mod to minetest_game but the engine ignores it. how this can be possible?
14:45 Fixer_ enable it in world config
14:45 everamzah is minetest_game in .minetest/games?  and is it selected over some system-wide installation of it?  or is this a local installation?
14:45 everamzah sub-game mods don't get enabled in world.mt, or did you not mean that?
14:47 Fritz01 i've got a non-portable installation with the engine files (and sub-games too) in a folder called ".minetest_engine". Mods, textures pack and worlds are in a folder called ".minetest"

14:54 everamzah what are you trying to do?
14:54 Fritz01 I've added a mod to minetest_game but the engine ignores it. how this can be possible?
14:55 Fritz01 that's my problem
14:57 everamzah you're trying to modify the sub-game?
14:57 everamzah because minetest_game is a sub-game.
14:57 everamzah or, are you trying to enable a mod?
15:03 everamzah https://github.com/minetest/minetest/blob/master/doc/lua_api.txt#L48
15:06 hmmmm joined #minetest
15:07 Fritz01 yes, i'm trying to modify the sub-game (adding a mod to it)
15:08 Fritz01 but it doesn't works
15:08 everamzah it's not hardcoded, it'll load whatever you put in there.  it very well should work, but if it doesn't, you'll want to check the locations of all the files
15:09 Fritz01 that's the point; it (the engine) doesn't load the mod that i added to minetest_game (games/minetest_game/mods)
15:12 Fritz01 Never mind. fixed it
15:13 uroboro joined #minetest
15:14 everamzah for the record: if you're adding a mod to a sub-game that is install system-wide (ie /usr/local/share/minetest/games/minetest_game/mods) you would need the administrator password.

17:01 Jeija Yes, I have already written to him directly. Just got no immediate answer. Figured I might try it here, but I will propably just have to wait.
17:02 Krock AFAIK, simply run the buildbot script in the misc folder
17:02 Krock you also might try in #-de ;)
17:03 Jeija Did that, got this error: http://pastebin.com/pXeBnJP0
17:03 * CWz never got buildbot to compile a working minetest for windows
17:06 Krock hmm.. something with mutex isn't working properly

17:13 agaran Krock: complex idea... but yes, it can be expressed as own mapgen in lua
17:13 Krock then use minetest.register_on_generated(..)
17:13 Krock keep a look at the other lua mapgens - can be helpful :)

19:58 paramat except of course set 'water_level' to your mapgen's water level
19:58 agaran paramat: thx :)
20:00 paramat also if your mapgen has water then you'll need to 'vm:update_liquids()' as shown here https://github.com/paramat/stability/blob/master/init.lua#L292
20:01 lumidify joined #minetest
20:01 agaran paramat: well I probably just clone that and run singleplayer to see how it works
20:02 paramat the code will auto-set singlenode mapgen
20:03 paramat because of course singlenode cannot be selected in world creation
20:03 paramat those 2 mods have the noise memory-use optimisations many other mods lack
20:04 agaran [cliffs] 477 ms
20:05 paramat it's experimental so you may evetually need code to spawn player at surface
20:05 agaran sure, it is already neat to see working example :)
