00:25 KaadmY could you pastebin them and give a link to it?

00:36 KaadmY isn't dreambuilder a subgame? i'm not very sure about that
00:37 KaadmY an nevermind
00:38 KaadmY are you using the git version of MT?
00:38 LinuxGuy2020 Its VanessaE mod. Basically a huge collection of other mods.
00:38 LinuxGuy2020 KaadmY: Debian repo version of 0.4.13
00:38 KaadmY hmm
00:40 KaadmY that mod really should work, no idea why it isn't
00:41 KaadmY have you changed anything related to the doors mod?
00:44 LinuxGuy2020 KaadmY:No. I just have that dreambuilder mod pack installed.
00:56 rubenwardy update your minetest_game
00:56 rubenwardy it requires a doors API
00:56 rubenwardy https://github.com/VanessaE/dreambuilder_modpack/blob/master/castle/init.lua#L193
00:56 rubenwardy and you need doors to be installed

01:53 swift110 ok so I have downloaded tutorial for minetest  but I am not understanding how to get it to work
01:53 KaadmY swift110: just load it as a subgame
01:53 KaadmY iirc it h as only one builtin world though
01:54 KaadmY has only*
01:54 swift110 KaadmY, how do I do that?
01:55 KaadmY i think you have to select the world named something like "Tutorial World" iirc
01:55 swift110 that is not on here
01:55 KaadmY with the Tuturial subga,me
01:55 KaadmY subgame*
01:55 KaadmY does the subgame show up?
01:55 swift110 i already have the tutorial on here in the same folder as minetest
01:55 swift110 what else do I need to do
01:56 KaadmY there's a world packaged with it i think
01:56 KaadmY although it might have been a schematic
01:56 KaadmY if it's a world, it has to be placed in the worlds folder
01:56 KaadmY with the rest of your worlds
01:57 swift110 ok
01:59 swift110 goodness
01:59 KaadmY what
01:59 swift110 All I did was place it in the folder for minetest
02:00 KaadmY that explains it :D
02:06 swift110 is there already a worlds folder?/
02:08 KaadmY there *should* be in your user directory
02:08 KaadmY on linux, it's ~/.minetest/
02:12 swift110 im on windows atm
02:15 Void7 put the game in the `(minetest source dir)/games' directory, and put the world in `(minetest source dir)/worlds' directory
02:20 swift110 im not seeing a worlds directory
02:20 KaadmY hmm
02:20 KaadmY (btw you really should put all custom content in your user directory ;)
02:21 swift110 minetest is installed on windows . In the minetest folder i dont see one for worlds
02:21 KaadmY it's probably in C:/user/<name>/Minetest
02:21 KaadmY or something
02:21 KaadmY just a guess, never used windows
02:25 swift110 ok goodness ill have to do it later then np
02:29 asl97 swift110: the wiki says: extract the Zip archive in to the main program folder in which you have installed Minetest.
02:29 asl97 http://wiki.minetest.net/Subgames/Tutorial
02:30 swift110 asl97, i read that.
02:30 swift110 its not clear
02:30 KaadmY uh
02:30 asl97 how is it not clear?
02:30 KaadmY that's the whole (and logical) instructions
02:31 lambda-11235 joined #minetest
02:31 swift110 ok
02:33 swift110 i extracted it to the minetest folder
02:33 swift110 still nothing
02:35 asl97 how did you extracted it?
02:36 swift110 right click extract
02:36 swift110 the folder is in the minetest folder
02:36 asl97 if you extracted it into a folder (like tutorial1.8.2), you did it wrongly, when it is extracted probably, it should place the files and folder (and create missing folders) in the right place
02:36 swift110 goodness
02:39 asl97 you just have to move the games and worlds folders out of the tutorial folder if it extracted into it.

18:40 Calinou maybe I should, on SSDs, the overhead is very small if you have hardware AES support

19:46 Lugal hi guys. Suppose I compile a minetest for example on Arch linux. Will the same work also on Debian or Fedora, if I just copy the game folder? (supposed its the same hardware and CPU architecture).
19:47 Lugal or has is to be compiled differently for the specific Linux?
19:47 est31 yes the formats are compatible
19:47 est31 but not the executable binaries if you wonder about that
19:47 est31 only the game data generated by minetest

21:03 thefamilygrog66 I compiled the newest git the other day and for some reasons, fences look like weird wood nodes instead of posts. Any ideas?
21:06 takitus thefamilygrog66: Check your textures, maybe
21:07 thefamilygrog66 takitus: I believe the texture is correct, but it's behaving like a regular node block, instead of being shaped like a fence post, if you know what I mean
21:07 Fixer sfan5, here?
21:08 sfan5 yes
21:08 Fixer i have small problem with buildbot, it says Could Not find Gettext (missing: gettext_msgfmt) any tips?
21:09 takitus thefamilygrog66: Interesting

21:09 jin_xi thefamilygrog66: did you also update your minetest_game?
21:09 Fixer well, not exactly with buildbot

21:09 Fixer i have that in lib
21:09 takitus thefamilygrog66: According to the docs, the code for shaped nodes is a bit volatile

21:11 Fixer this is it, ok
21:11 sfan5 the package includes msgfmt.exe

21:14 thefamilygrog66 my server is running 0.4.13-dev, minetest, v7
21:15 thefamilygrog66 my client is 0.4.13 (windows)
21:17 thefamilygrog66 asl97, even

21:18 asl97 that's the problem

21:19 thefamilygrog66 is there even a dev client for windows?
21:19 asl97 there is suppose to be a release soonish
21:19 thefamilygrog66 I mean I can update the client on my linux laptop to dev no prob, but win is a bit more limited
21:19 asl97 i quote from the #minetest-dev channel message: release on 11th.

21:36 asl97 afaik, faster and smaller database size
