that's an issue in minetest. there's a mod that can fix it, let me get the name of it |

mapfix is the name of the mod. it updates the map so that if shadows are cast when there shouldn't be any, you can issue a command to fix it |

IMO it's at least as fast as the world generation in MC, but I did not measure anything. But Valleys is beautiful and generates fast enough for me to fly around without having to wait at the edge of a world hole and hope it will generate soon |
