16:17 RealBadAngel nrzkt, what is costly in bumpmapping is autogenerating normal maps, to make bumpmapping faster you have to provide pre made maps
16:18 RealBadAngel that will reduce sampler reads from 10 to 2 per each pixel
16:19 RealBadAngel autogen was meant as a fallback when theres no map provided. when you try to use it as main feature, that will be damn slow
