06:48 celeron55 sfan5: wat
06:49 celeron55 sfan5: wtf, who did that?
06:49 sfan5 i don't know
06:49 sfan5 i didn't do it (i'm pretty sure)
06:50 VanessaE I'm checking my logs to see who it was in case it was mentioned in the channel.
06:50 celeron55 the forum does not have any kind of log for actions or revert-ability
06:51 celeron55 well, if somebody knows the id of the thread, i could ask for web server logs
06:51 VanessaE I mean my IRC log
06:51 celeron55 but it'll only reveal time
06:51 sfan5 umm, let me read my browser history
06:53 VanessaE ID 1293

06:54 sfan5_ celeron55: topic move requests -> http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1293
06:55 VanessaE didn't I just say that? :-)
06:55 sfan5_ idk
06:55 sfan5_ my router is some sort of broken so i time out sometimes
06:57 celeron55 i'll dig up the topic from a backup
06:57 sfan5 ok
07:00 celeron55 still i want to know who did it, and how he is going to not do it in the future
07:09 celeron55 fuck, how am i supposed to get anything out of this 20 megabyte SQL dump without setting up a whole httpserver+mysql+punbb setup
07:09 VanessaE celeron55: all I can find is that it happened sometime in mid-late July, still can't find who did it (I could swear I remember someone saying they were responsible)
07:10 EdB joined #minetest-dev
07:29 celeron55 the topic does not exist in a backup from 2012-07-21
07:30 celeron55 (i have these randomly stored roughly one month apart from each other)
07:32 celeron55 oh hell
07:35 VanessaE ?
07:36 celeron55 okay, it seems i do not have any version of the topic anywhere... except maybe a backup of the backup on one computer but i am not going to boot it now
07:38 celeron55 well just go and make a new one, a sticky topic called exactly "Topic Move Requests" in mod releases
07:39 celeron55 it didn't have much of text in it anyway
07:40 celeron55 i am just surprised how long it has already been inexistent
07:40 celeron55 much over a month

07:41 celeron55 Calinou: see channel log
07:41 Calinou hi
07:41 celeron55 so, that taken care of, i think i seriously should already get 0.4.2 officially out
07:41 VanessaE no
07:42 celeron55 no? what?
07:43 VanessaE *shrug* forget it.
07:44 celeron55 ehm
07:45 Calinou http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2434 < here's your mod requests topic
07:45 Calinou nevermind
07:45 VanessaE simply put, there are a number of little glitches here and there in the game that I think should be corrected before the next release.
07:45 sfan5 Calinou: move requests not mod requests
07:46 Calinou yes, the topic seems to be gone... did a quick search
07:46 Calinou didn't touch it.
07:48 Calinou http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=32344#p32344 < old thread (found in browser history)
07:48 celeron55 Calinou: stop making issues like this; unless this has an explanation in 5 minutes, i'll delete it https://github.com/celeron55/minetest/issues/217
07:48 celeron55 chances are i'll delete it anyway; the issue list isn't really a feature suggestion board
07:48 Calinou ok then
07:48 celeron55 if all feature suggestions that i haven't even approved went there, it'd be so full of them you couldn't even find the bugs
07:49 celeron55 or anything important
07:49 celeron55 a good bug tracker could handle that just fine but the github issue list isn't a good bug tracker
07:50 Calinou sfan5 also posted the ID of the topic in the logs as I see
07:57 vicscandl celeron55: "github issue list isn't a good bug tracker" what bug tracker do you prefer?
07:58 vicscandl s/prefer/use/
07:59 celeron55 for minetest, i don't use anything else, and i don't run any other project of this size, so i use nothing else
08:00 celeron55 basically github is fine as long as people use it in a certain way
08:00 vicscandl aye; "certain way" omg,f. it takes n00b's at my codeshop like 2 weeks before i have them using mercurical in my "certain way".. ha!
08:02 vicscandl celeron55: ty for your input.

10:09 saschaheylik celeron55: is there anything specifically you want me to take care of today?
10:12 celeron55 i don't have any particular trivial tasks in mind
10:13 saschaheylik anything "non-trivial" then?
10:13 celeron55 there is 1) all the bugs (most found in the github issue list), and 2) a number of vague medium sized things to design and implement, many are here: http://minetest.net/wiki/doku.php?id=dev:random_things_by_celeron55
10:14 celeron55 also it would be very useful if somebody who uses for example the rollback functions would tweak and polish them
10:15 celeron55 i don't these days play minetest much at all so i cannot guide myself based on the user perspective; if something seems half-baked, then it probably is and you are supposed to fix it
10:15 * VanessaE falls out of her chair
10:16 * celeron55 lists out facts like a robot
10:18 saschaheylik "you are supposed to fix it" doesn't sound like a fact a "robot" would list

19:50 celeron55 bah, stupid people give links to me and then delete their websites
19:56 thexyz it seems they didn't pay for hosting
19:56 thexyz but anyway
20:09 thexyz also, what about creating new "topic move requests"?
20:09 thexyz if old one can't be recovered
21:35 thexyz celeron55: is that solution for custom crafting grids sane enough? https://github.com/celeron55/minetest/pull/220
